The Horrors, back in the first album days, but I've seen them since and they were good.

Babyshambles before the first album I think, sounded like they were playing different songs to each other, but again I've seen them since and they were good.

Angels and Airwaves supporting Foos at LCCC, got booed off, I've since them since and... they were just as bad.

Big Pink were awful at the Cockpit one time too, I just chain smoked outside talking to other disappointed people til my mates came out, it was way more entertaining.

The actual worst band I've ever seen was called something like Shrieking Violets supporting British Sea Power at the Irish Centre in Leeds. I think it was a joke or something? It was a girl with an acoustic guitar singing songs with nursery-rhyme-esque melodies with a super camp guy who was terrified. She didn't seem to know how to play chords, so she just picked one note at a time in standard slow 4/4 beat for every song, but every time she tried to sing she'd go out of time. There were failed attempts made to harmonise. They kept breaking into fits of giggles. The crowd was bewildered. If anyone knows anything about these please let me know cos I was really intrigued as to how they ended up on a stage in front of hundreds of people.

Love Letters - supporting Panic! at the Disco last may, I went to a couple dates and they seemed to get more comfortable on stage as the tour went on but they were just terrible.

Blood On The Dancefloor - warped '11. someone I was with liked them and when I went to meet him he was watching them. Not really sure how they have any fans at all.

S.C.U.M - supporting The Kills in may last year at the ABC

Prima Donna - supporting Green Day at the SECC in 2009

LostAlone - supporting MCR I think in march last year? at the secc. no idea how they got on that tour.

Frankie & The Heartstrings - supporting florence & the machine in 2009

Did an updated list as i'm bored. It's very similar to the last list :P

Candira - Supporting Bullet For My Valentine - Truro Hall For Cornwall - METULZ, really trying so hard to be it and failing.

Sanctity - Supporting Trivium - Plymouth Pavilions - Got offered to go to this gig at last minute, not really my thing but i'd never been to a proper metal gig before so I thought I would. Trivium were alright, as were Gojira, but Annihilator blew them both away. Sanctity however, were tedious as anything.

Kids In Glass Houses - Supporting Manic Street Preachers - Truro Hall For Cornwall - They were really bad. But I did respect that played on despite the crowd hating them. Even giving the mic to a member of the crowd for a while to tell the crowd why she hated the band.

Your Demise - Supporting Enter Shikari - Plymouth Pavilions - Utterly forgettable, just not an enjoyable set, and we were bored through most of it. Enter Shikari were alright, but Hundred Reasons were far better than the other two bands who played that night.

Flyleaf - Supporting Korn - Plymouth Pavilions - Don't be covering a Nine Inch Nails song, if your lead singer can't do it justice. Just fuck off. Korn were amazing, but the support did let it down. But at least Deathstars were somewhat entertaining, even though the music was dogshite.

Anti-Flag - Reading Festival 2008 - Thought we'd see the first band on the mainstage that year. Mistake. Shrieking about politics in the most cheesy fashion. We fucked off to go see Future Of The Left who were far, far more entertaining.

Taking Back Sunday - Reading Festival 2008 - Not sure why I saw these. But the sound was terrible, and they looked as bored as the crowd did.

MGMT - Reading Festival 2008 - What the fuck were they thinking. The rock n roll cliche of being off your fucking head while playing is all well and good... if you play well and put on a show... they didn't. It was a mess both visually and sound-wise.

Queens Of The Stone Age - Reading Festival 2008 - It hurts me to put these here. They are bar far not the worst, they'd be up the better end of the bad scale. But this night it was just lacking in energy. 2010 made well up for it when they were sublime.

Them Crooked Vultures - Reading Festival 2009 - Boring, Tedious, Arrogant... just a vanity project that managed to convince a lot of people was actually good. No. It was one of the most mind dumbingly boring set's i've seen. I actually went over to the mainstage, saw The Courteeners who I actually thought put on a better performance. That's saying something. When ego gets out of control, this is what happens.

Lily Allen - O2 Arena, London - She couldn't have but much less effort in if she tried. Dizzee Rascal had blown everyone away just before. Lily just couldn't be fucked to bother

Sic Alps - Supporting Pavement - Brixton Academy, London - I actually quite like them recorded. But live it was dreadful. Appalling sound, was just a wall of disjointed noise... and not in a good way.

Jack Johnson - Glastonbury Festival 2010 - Dull.

The Gaslight Anthem - Reading Festival 2010 - Dull.

Paramore - Reading Festival 2010 - They were booked too high up, didn't have the talent nor experience to fill the slot. So it was just so boring. That said, biggest crowd of the weekend, so I guess it worked.

Blink-182 - Reading Festival 2010 - Worst festival headline slot i've ever seen. Why did they bother. Went to see the last 20-30 mins of Klaxons who were far better but had a tiny crowd.

Paul Simon - Glastonbury 2011 - Dull.

Pendulum - Glastonbury 2011 - I have no idea why this band were booked so high up such a legendary stage. But whatever. Music is corny, tedious and their fan are (mostly) c**ts.

oh and U2 for just being c**ts. I was excited to see them. I've already stated why it was shit.

The Internet - Rockness 2012

We left halfway through the set the lead singer looked like he thought he was in JLS

Think it was 2005, the support for Oasis was just awful. So bad that the crowd outsang them with Stand Free we are the famous Aberdeen for 20mins. I almost felt bad for them.

Hard-Fi @ TITP 06, was a pretty solid main stage that day, apart from this black hole of a set, awful. Just awful, murdered seven nation army too.

The Bravery @ TITP 05, rubbish.

Glasvegas @ Rockness 11, self glorified tosh. You know a set is bad when you have made Paulo Nutini look like a million pound

Amy Winehouse @ T08 - Should have been no where near a stage, was a mess.

Kings of Leon @ T09 - where one of my favourite bands before this point, a combination of a change of attitude and a 'that' type of crowd made me go and enjoy Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds with a very small crowd

Janes Addiction @T09 - Where late, and a bit rubbish in all accounts, NIN where awesome after though

Fleet foxes - glastonbury 09 - The saddest sight in the world on a beautiful day was to see them looking like sedated depression patients let out into the exercise yard for a wander.

Kate Nash - glastonbuey 10 - my daughter dragged me along to an absolute clusterfuck of a gig where she played songs no one knew to a disinterested crowd while she slowly melted, by the end of show she was berating the crowd for not having fun and her lipstick had smudged to give her an excellent hitler moustache.

Sneakerpimps - glastonbury 99 - No one thought to mention to me that the singer had left and the keyboard player was stepping in to camp it up like a lanky brian molko, by the 4th song there were less than 200 left in the crowd and I was not one of them.

Kasabian - Glastonbury 09 - I went expecting energy, what I got was dull, uninspiring and led me to get more out of my face than at any point before or since just to rescue the evening.

Paul Simon - Glastonbury 11 - What a fucking disappointment, not just the performance, but the cocks who turned up in their thousands to be antisocial throughout, I left halfway through and got naked with strangers, this turned out to be by far the better option.

I've seen some ropey support acts in my time, but only a few big names stick out:

The Strokes - Big Weekend 2011

Painfully boring. I left to watch different acts and came back several times to check that it wasn't because I was depressed or something.

Guns & Roses - Reading 2010

So bad it was funny. Just absolute dross and an embarrassment to what GnR once was.

Paramore - Reading 2010

I've never seen a band more out their depth before. For a sub their performance was especially powerless, limp, and forgettable.

Seen a few bad bands but for me the worst was undoubtedly Guns N Roses at Roskilde festival 2006. Just really dull and uninspiring... Luckily though they were bad enough that I didn't waste much time watching them before sprinting off to catch Sigur Ros. If they had been even slightly fun I might have missed what turned out to be one of my favourite gigs.
