Rob Dalton
Just incase anyone's mail filters dumps tonights e-mail from AEG in their spam folder, there's been a couple of changes to the train pick-up stations -- Dear RockNess Express Customers, With only a week today until we board the RockNess Express we have some information for you. Network Rail have informed us that there will be changes to the RockNess Express route. This is because of expected congestion and rail works at Birmingham New Street and Derby. Therefore the following changes will be implemented. - The train will now be stopping at BIRMINGHAM INTERNATIONAL instead of BIRMINGHAM NEW STREET. - The train will now be stopping at STOKE ON TRENT instead of DERBY. To clarify, the train timetable with Network Rails latest estimated departure times will be: London - dep 07:40 Birmingham International - dep approximately 09.15 Stoke on Trent - dep approximately 11.00 York - dep approximately 13:00 Newcastle - dep approximately 14.45 The RockNess team apologise for any inconvenience that these changes may cause you. Understandably, we acknowledge that these changes may require you to alter your plans so please refer to the advice below: Derby, now STOKE ON TRENT passengers: - The travel time in a car from Derby station to Stoke-on-Trent station is approximately an hour, straight along the A52 heading west. I have personally just spoken to Stoke-On-Trent stations Customer Services team and they've confirmed that you are able to park at the station over the weekend. There's loads of spaces so there shouldn't be problems with finding where to park, if you chose to travel this way. - The travel time by train from Derby Station to Stoke-on-Trent station is 53 minutes, with no changes. Birmingham New Street, now BIRMINGHAM INTERNATIONAL passengers: - Birmingham International is 9 miles outside the city centre. - Travelling by car from the city centre of Birmingham takes about 20 minutes. You will be able to park at the station as they have a large car park, which you can park in over the weekend. - Travelling by train takes 10 minutes from Birmingham New Street. Other information: - The return times for the RockNess Express are still waiting to be confirmed by Network Rail, but we are being advised that the train will leave Inverness first thing on the morning of Monday 11th June. There will be shuttle buses ready to take you from the site straight to the station, so make sure you all get on them! - At the festival, our VIP clubhouse will keep you all regularly updated with information on the return journey, as well as other information and advice during the festival. I'd like to personally apologise for the disruption this may cause passengers as I can understand the complications this may bring to some of you, but we have to follow the procedures as laid out by Network Rail. Finally please can passengers previously boarding from Birmingham New Street or Derby respond ASAP with what station you will be now boarding from in light of these changes by replying directly to me through this email.
