Don't get me wrong I have really enjoyed the prodigy when I have seen them, but they are often playing live on these here shores and not just at the likes of download. Good though I thought they would be, that was a download headline slot wasted for me. Same thing for chase and status. I'll be seeing them at t again this year.

I loved Killswitch, I thought the setlist worked really well and Jesse was brilliant. I was impressed with Slash, Anthrax and although they're not everyone's cup of tea I thought Steel Panther were entertaining.

Tenacious D played too many songs off the new album for my liking.

Metallica bored me a little but I was towards the back with 2 people who are Anti-Metallica.

Kyuss lives did nothing for me but I didn't expect them to I just went for a friend.

Europe pissed me off with their no-show but I get to see them in November.

Top 3:

Metallica - I never thought otherwise being a lifelong fan, but the set was incredible and the lighting/pyro rig for One was amazing. We managed to get right down near the front and the atmosphere was amazing, especially after chatting to everyone around us during the hour break after Biffy.

Slash and Myles - been listening to Guns and Roses since Appetite, like a bit of Velvet Revolver, love Slash's Snakepit and Alter Bridge, so it was kind of a perfect booking for me. And the set list was incredible - again we got right down near the front and just enjoyed it.

Sabbath - I don't listen to Sabbath ordinarily, and had no idea if Ozzy could perform well but I had to see them, because, well it's Sabbath! And boy did they do the business - our whole group got really into it and everyone was amazed by how well they can still perform.

Biggest surprises of the weekend:

Terrorvision - been listening to them since How To Make Friend And Influence people and couldn't believe how good they were live. Sure, he's not the best singer, but he's a hell of a front man!

Nightwish - never bothered listening to them before, but their set just blew me away.

Kyuss - despite how long they've been around, I'd never really given them a go. Since I do like a bit of sleazy stoner rock every now and then, I thought they were perfect on Sunday in the sun with a few beers! Since I got back home, I can't stop listening to them!

Turkey of the weekend:

Fear Factory - the sound was awful, and the guy just cannot sing live. Sure he can growl well enough, but on the cleans it was just terrible which was a real shame as I was looking forward to them.

Actually, with the exception of Fear Factory, I didn't see a bad band all weekend, and it was nice to see Breed 77 on the acoustic stage having seen them twice live before doing their normal stuff - I dragged a few of our crowd to watch them and they absolutely loved it.

Maybe not the best band of the weekend, but i really enjoyed Rise Against's set. Played at lot of their more recent stuff which suited me just fine, and managed to sound energetic for the whole of the set. I think i would have enjoyed As I Lay Dying a whole lot more if i wasn't actually suffering so much from the night before, but i guess the band name was apt for the way i was feeling lol

Has to be Metallica (was always gonna be), thought the set came very close to equalling the 2006 DL set, and they were a million times better than they were at Soni last year.

Biffy were great (imo), Trivium, KSE, Machine Head, Anti nowhere league (So What!!), and Sabbath.

Biggest suprise for me were Soundgarden!! Never really listened to much of their stuff before but was well impressed with their set.

Top bands for me were.. Trivium, biffy, metallica, megadeth, soundgarden

Little angels great to see them again, even met Bruce Dickinson on the Saturday.

Slash was good

Surprised how good machine head were but lamb of god are the worst band I've ever seen & the the butcher babies aren't just about the boobs :)

Sabbath were ok but I was sober as I had to drive back to Edinburgh.

Chase n Status were brilliant. I missed loads due to fedupness of trudging around. Metallica were brilliant, but all of Hetfield's adlibs have been the same on all the European nights. They're so slick now, they're losing a bit of the excitement. I did slip away from Metallica to see a but of the Mission who were fab. I too am unlikely to return. I can't be arsed with the utter disorganisation and the stupidly long walks.

Eeeee the yoof of today. A wee bit of rain and mud and they can't hack it. Nothing was any worse than the last few years (aside from the weather) and none of these things were issues then. I refuse to believe there is less walking between stages at Glasto and it's no worse than T. All the other fests I've been too are small so don't compare. I really do suspect there would be hell of a lot less whingeing going on if the sun had shone all weekend.

Dunno If anybody else thought this but I think Biffy Clyro should have opened with The Captain and closed with mountains instead of the other way round.

But their set was missing Jaggy Snake praying they'd play it, but at least they played Toys Toys Toys Choke Toys Toys Toys

Awesome set though

I was won over by Chase and Status. Had such a good time during their set!

Tenacious D were amazing. Loved that Corey performed with them. Kinda made it bearable that I missed Corey due to inability to get within 40 feet of the damn tent, I could have cried!

Trivium and Steel panther were really good too.

It was a shame about the sound quality and wind being a nuisance on 2nd stage as it affected my enjoyment of Shinedown, Fozzy and Halestorm :(
