RockNess being part of the Olympics

RockNess was AWESOME!!

There was such a wide range of acts which were so exciting.

It amazing to see the the wonderful RockNess festival to be a part of something even bigger- the Olympics!!!

What do you think about having the Olympic torch go across stage??

I was expecting something more funky or cool.... it was a wee bit boring... but none the less part of history..

We had a great laugh at the Olympic Torch Relay because we know the history - it's not an idea from classic-era Greece, it's a modern invention devised by Carl Diem for the Berlin 1936 Nazi Olympics. It was Carl Diem who used the spirit of Sparta to motivate several thousand Berlin teenagers to sacrifice themselves to the advance of the Red Army into Berlin in 1945.

So yeah, we had a great laugh because basically it's a Swastika-encrusted device expressly designed by Nazis to motivate the youth in their favour ... so we had a good laugh about it rather than feeling very engaged by it.

So what happened with RockNess being part of the Olympics, it must have been a hash olympics, quickest rolled spliff, weight lifting (heaviest joint rolled), Hot Knife Marathon (26 per person) and of course, the strongest spliff.

For me the event of the weekend was the (Legal) High Jump.
