2012 get over it - 2013 Rock Royalty?

I'm fed up with all the doom and gloom about how Sonisphere can't come back from the disaster of this year. There were many factors that combined into the decision to cancel the event, get over it! I'm sure they will be back next year, the festival has only been going for a few years and was getting better each year, so i hope to see them back next year fighting fit and better than ever. How short are people's memories, Download suffered something similar a few years ago, and they came back from it.

Anyway, straying from my point, i have been to the last 2 Sonispheres as staff, so had to miss out on a good chunk of the weekend, I am thinking next year will require a stupendous effort to win people back, so would rather do it as a normal punter to enjoy everything more. My question is, who has done Rock Royalty and what are the advantages/perks over normal camping?

Either way, the 2013 Sonisphere fund has now been started.

Never camped Rock Royalty - but I've been in the RR section and have friends who camp RR every year. Basically the advantages are, a better campsite where you can park next to your tent, better loos, they have better food stalls, better choice of drinks - and I think pints are slightly cheaper - not by a lot mind you - they have some big barns which at night time have DJ's in them, and have some acoustic sets by some of the smaller bands over the weekend in the RR area too. Think the ticket includes Early Entry and you don't need a car pass or anything so I guess you save yourself £20 or so quid on that. Everyone I know who camps RR seems to think it's great anyways, so it seems to be worth the money - I'm too poor though, so I just go in pleb camping :P

We did Rock Royalty in 2011, and it made the festival even better than ever. You can park next to your tent, which also means its easy to bring loads of stuff, food, beer etc. it also means you can charge your phone :)

There's two bars, a couple of eating places where you can actually sit down. They do fry ups in the morning too. After hours, there's two clubs playing music.

The campsite is right next to the main arena with an entrance straight in between the two main stages. We worked out that it was quicker to pop back to our tent, fill up our plastic pint glass with beer that we brought with us and take it into the arena rather than going to the bar in the arena. We saved a fortune.... And got through a lot of ale and Jagermeister at minimal cost - result.

The loos and showers are really clean, and are proper cubicles with real toilets. Much cleaner than the ones in the arena, and, again, quicker to stroll into the campsite to use them, than to queue in the arena.

If sonisphere return this year, I'll be in rock royalty. It just adds to the festival.
