Don't you think its his temperament makes him the player he is? In the same way Keane needed to be on the edge.

Always remember against Newcastle he was pissed of with the ref and then lashed in a 25 yard screamer.

I like players to have a bit of bite, one player I would love fergie to get into the club is balotelli.

Arsenal signed Cazorla apparently. Is he any good? Big money for Wenger.

Steve?

Also, Lucas

Moura's agent Wagner Ribeiro claims they will not up their offer to meet Sao Paulo's £30million asking price so a move to Old Trafford will not happen.

Ribeiro told UOL: "They have reached their limit.

"Lucas Moura won't leave. He is happy at Sao Paulo. We have to forget this subject. There is no possibility he leaves now.

"Manchester United made an offer, which was rejected and they won't make another one as they have reached their limit."

Arshavin wasn't a young buy when he came in, nor Squillaci, nor Arteta. There have been a few over the years, but it does look like he's spending big this summer.

Supposedly Carzola can play either. Don't forget Gervinho as well, even if he was pretty shit post-ACoN.

Maybe it's not just an ambition thing, maybe Emirates income is finally outdoing debt repayments and Arsenal have a lot more money to spend, particularly when you factor in leftover Nasri/Fabregas funds.

I think the Anderson and Carroll situations are a little different. When Man Utd bought Anderson there was a good case to be made for the fee. He was an exciting players and several top european sides were taking interest in him. The signing hasnt worked out but there were other similar type of players who had commanded similar transfer fees. Carroll however was pretty much unknown outside England and the fee was unprecendented for that sort of player.

I don't see them as much different - both unknowns outside of their home country, but with perceived potential.

The only real difference is the amount of premium paid for either. While Carroll cost more, the circumstances around that - the transfer window closing in a couple of hours - gave Ashley the ability to turn the screw with the price.
