I'm not convinced by Di Matteo as a manager. Had an average time at WBA and then at Chelski he wasn't great. His points/game, goals/game, conceded/game stats were all worse than AVB's, he just had the benefit of players on his side and luck in an ugly, defensive Champs Lge run.

I like the champions league draw, in general the giants have been kept apart but they have still have a tasty juve v bayern match, while dortmund v malaga guarantees a,new name in the semis looking at recent years.

Glad the English sides got separated in the europa. Think spurs have had a pretty kind draw, while Newcastle will probably go out. Chelsea hard to predict, depends how interested they are.

Of course he is going to get respect as a top level manager. He might have gone off the boil now but from 2000-2009 he was one of the best in Europe, easily. Especially in Europe.

Rafa's won the CL, the UEFA Cup, FA Cup and two La Ligas plus a few other mickey mouse pots. How many current club managers out there top that? Ferguson, Ancelotti, Guardiola, Mourinho... Not much shame in that.

We won 12 of our last 13 I think. Good points total, we just faced a team with Ronaldo Tevez and Rooney up front whilst Torres missed about 1/3 of the season. Hard to compete with those goals!

Catching up on posts atm, but that was a disgustingly horrible tackle and disgraceful performance from the officials.

Haidara's looked pretty good so far, only played a few games, but he's looked strong defensively and like a great prospect, but after that challenge he'll miss months, if not time out until Christmas or something. Apparently he still couldn't straighten his leg or talk at half time.

Wigan played nicely other than that thuggish tackle. 1-1 would have been a fair result, but more blindness from the officials stopped that. Mediocre defending for a scrappy goal, but such a blatant handball.

Thank fuck we still have breathing space.
