Essex_George
Ian Ayre has guaranteed it that Suarez will be a LFC next season. That's it then, he will be leaving in the summer!

pink_triangle
I have no doubt that Suarez would leave for the right club, however signing him would be a huge financial package. There are very few clubs that could both afford his wages and guarantee to be regularly competitive in the champions league. It's possible that the clubs who could afford him will either prioritise elsewhere or go for cavani or falco instead. I can't be bothered getting into a "who is a big club" argument as I think its stupid. The reality is in 2013 Liverpool have 3 clubs in their league with substantially more spending power. So unless this significantly increases the most they can potentially achieve in the short term is occasional champions league which isn't good enough for someone like Suarez whos ability demands to be there every year. However things in football change quickly, the emergence of city has hurt Liverpool more than anyone but who knows which teans will have a significant increase or decrease in spending power in the next few years. eFestivals
Yeah thats what I was getting at. Player says something on international duty that gets "lost in translation", the club deny it and then the player leaves.still, a straight denial isn't as embarrassing as making up some utter bollocks with mentions of illnesses into the statement before the player then leaves. pink_triangle
My opinion regarding the Ferdinand contreversy. What the hell were a middle east tv company thinking when they thought Rio would make a good pundit!!
eFestivals
My opinion regarding the Ferdinand contreversy. What the hell were a middle east tv company thinking when they thought Rio would make a good pundit!! On the more sensible angle, I cannot fathom how it's possible to need such a strict medical regime around a back injury that he's unable to play without first having weeks of notice, but being sat on a plane for 5+ hours for two journeys doesn't impact onto that back injury.Either Rio is playing a pathetic little game with England with fergie's assistance to take the piss out of England because of his previous 'snub' (or alternatively, being too out of form to be worth picking), or Rio is too thick to understand the realities of whatever treatment his back might be getting. Both are easily possible, but given how thick Rio has proven himself around medical issues in the past, I'm going with that one. eFestivals
Great appointment, I think, by the FA of Greg Dyke - cos there's no doubting his passion for the game, and as a real fan rather than a plastic fan. There's also no doubting his integrity, or his management skills. However, I'm still not sure his management skills are going to be adequate to deal with the immovables within the FA, so I can see Dyke's frustration at that climbing rapidly and it all going tits-up quite quickly. I really wouldn't be surprised if he's gone again within a year.So while i think it's a great appointment, that's probably not going to be realised until after he's gone. eFestivals
Knew the day was coming - still feels like a kick in the teeth thoughhow are the retractable seats going to work? Will they be flat on the running track, instead of sloping up as is the norm?I can't work out how they'd do it otherwise.

TheGayTent
Whatever happened to Gold & Sullivan's fan charter they introduced when they took control of the club? It included this gem: "To consult with our supporter base regarding our proposed move to the Olympic Stadium" My arse

eFestivals
No idea. They haven't shown anyone any plans. The only thing the club have shown anyone including the SAB are artists impressions. Which we all know are worthless. It looks like a shallow rake. Doesn't go all the way over the track nor does it meet the upper tier.so is it - as you currently understand it - some sort of thing where what pulls out over-lays the first tier of seating that's there currently (rather than being something which is only on the track)? But anyway, surely the running track is going to be a temporary thing, no matter what claims are being made now? My guess is that after the World Athletics Champs (or whatever it is) in 2016 the running track will quickly die a death.

eFestivals
The running track will stay. They're already talking about a bid for the 2022 commonwealth games. They're not going to spend millions on retractable seating ready for WHU in 2016 (and possibly the RWC) hold the athletics world championships in 2017 and then rip the track up and spend millions more on a new lower tier. Particularly as the roof will have changed by thenbut WHU will push for the track to go, I'm sure, and those retractable seats will have a limited life - so the costs of something new or different will be there anyway I reckon. If the track is barely used - and I can't see how it won't be, given the general lack of interest in the UK - then the case will always be being made that it should go.
