but WHU will push for the track to go, I'm sure, and those retractable seats will have a limited life - so the costs of something new or different will be there anyway I reckon.

If the track is barely used - and I can't see how it won't be, given the general lack of interest in the UK - then the case will always be being made that it should go.

WHU don't have the money to pay for redevelopment. The club are putting just £15m in as things stand. They won't be in any position to put pressure on the government to pay for further amendments.

if there's an extra advantage to WHU in it, then I'm sure they'd find a way of finding the money - and i'm sure they'll be in the position to put pressure on the govt about it, because it'll be a way of the govt getting on-going costs off the books.

Even if you dig the athletics track up, the only way to bring the stands closer to the track permanently is to knock it all down. To extend the lower tier from the front of the upper tier to the edge of the playing field doesn't work. The angle is all wrong.

I know it won't work as things are currently, but digging out the middle to lower the pitch to give the rake for a new lower tier isn't beyond what's possible, is it?

Tho having written that, and realised there's a river close by, perhaps there might be water table issues?

There is nothing like winning trophies! Wrexham losing after 82 minutes in their first wembley final. Equalised and then won on penalties. Pity I had to experience it on Manchester airport WiFi and couldnt jump around like a mad man in fear of looking suspicious!

I like the way England went from "world beaters" in the first 45 minutes to a travesty in the last 45 minutes last night

I wonder if Roy has considered telling them to at least try to keep possession for a little while.

Woy's wonders, eh?

I like the way that Montenegro went from (Townsend's words) "San Marino would beat these" to England's equal in 45 minutes.
