Bale getting injured is a disaster! By the looks of things we'll face Everton without Bale, Lennon, Kaboul and Sandro - 4 players that would play in EVERY premier league team if available. If we still get CL with those guys out we'll really deserve it.

You're 1/4 right. Kaboul, Sandro, and Lennon are not even close to being good enough for such a claim. Particularly Lennon, most teams in the league have more capable wingers than him, if all you need him to do is run, he's alright, but anything else he's not good enough, and the thought that he's important to your team is exactly the kind of thinking that proves you're not ready for the big-boy cup yet, so best to stick with struggling through the Europa ;)

Lovely to spark some debate. I kind of agree with the points made about Lennon, although he has finally shown a final ball this season and we miss him terribly when he doesn't play.

I stand by the others as being good enough for anyone, though - albeit within the rotation of many of the bigger teams. Players that are first choice for France and Brazil are generally that good and I promise you that Fergie would swap Rio and Carrick for them in a heartbeat.

On the other point above, I too am shocked at how few Man Shitteh fans have appeared since their windfall and the success that's followed it; there were more fake Mancs when they were poor but Oasis were big. I guess they are just so hard to love that even the glory hunters find it difficult. Then again, maybe the glory-hunters actually went to see Chelscum or Ars*nal play and enjoyed the peace and quiet so stuck with them (I realise that after the dreadful fans at WHL last night I am courting controversy by slating the lesser London teams' fans).

A couple of random facts I heard today.

1. Scotland are the first european team to be elminated from the world cup. Wish I could find the posts of some of the scots on here confident of at least a play off place!

2. The home nations have only managed 5 wins between them in the world cup qualifying campaign which considering 2 of them were british teams playing each other is pretty bad. In terms of world ranking the best non british side beaten by a british side is englands defeat of moldova!

Im not surprised about the lack of city glory hunters. I think it will take sustained success over a few years for them to start coming through en masse. I dont however sense the hostility to them that you get with chelsea, I wonder if its because they were one of those clubs that a lot of people had a hot spot for before the takeover.

Talking about Arsenal, I am quite surprised that they dont have more fans when you look at the length of time they have been in the top 4 teams in the league. Living in the midlands at present its common to see man u and liverpoool shirts but very rare arsenal, they also dont seem to attract anywhere near the international fans of those 2 teams,
