For the past 2 and a half years I've been saying that the Belgian national team's time is coming. Most people said they've got a few star players but no depth of quality and will struggle, but since Hazard arrived and Fellaini got a load of media attention everyone's suddenly starting to big them up. I doubt they'll win in Brazil but I reckon they've got a chance, unlike England who will go out at the 1st or 2nd knockout round as always.

What they have is a real quality spine. Which is slowly starting to become a squad.

I remember Everton playing Liege just after we signed Fellaini (After he had a stormer against Liverpool), they had a cracking midfield of Witsel, Defour with a lot of other good teams, they were a real handful.

But more players kept coming through.. their squad has real quality. In Courtois, they have potentially the best goalkeeper in the world in the next few years, he's a proper goalkeeper, commands his box, isn't afraid to come out, and despite the fact Atletico only get hype for Falcao, Courtois has been phenomenal these last 2 years, if Chelsea get shut they are idiots.

As well as Witsel, Alderweireld, Kompany, Vertonghen, Vermaelen, (an ageing, but still good) Van Buyten, Fellaini, Defour, Hazard, Dembéle, De Bruyne, Mirallas and Lukaku! that there is an excellent squad, oh and Benteke! they have a proper squad with some useful players in the squad too... you can look at it and shrug and say, nah thats no good, but excluding Van Buyten there, Vermaelen, 27, is their oldest player, they'll be very good for the next few years at least, unlike England with Lampard, Gerrard, Parker, Ferdinand, Terry all ridiculously old. How do England have a chance? They don't!

I for one, will look forward to seeing Belgium at this upcoming world cup, as they will be there, and should England qualify, i really wouldn't want to be in Belgiums group out of the Europeans, especially as we are going to be seeded (somehow?!)

The difference between the Belgians and the English 'Golden Generation' is that England were always just best of the rest. Belgium are definitely up there. So to me, unrealistic goals. The last time they had a chance to win a tournament was '96. Not sure Belgium will win the world cup but they are defo in with a shout of the Euro.

Just found out yesterday that one of our players Glen Little used to play for you. What was he like for you? He is a bit of a cult hero at wrexham, amazing skill and football brain. Unfortunately he doesnt have the legs for more than 30 minutes as a sub but if he did he wouldnt play at this level!

That Villa win is big. Not only is it vital points for them, but it drags Stoke right into it. Looks very much like 2 + 1 of 5.

Southampton probably safe now, great win for them in a game I thought they'd lose. 37 points at this stage should really be enough.
