Best player for Sunderland: Jonas Gutierrez.

Not taking anything away from the scum, they played well, were sharper than us, and better over the 90 minutes. Cisse's goal shouldn't have been ruled out but they could have had a pen. The problem though was Jonas. At fault for every one of their goals: gave it away and didn't track Sessegnon for the first; failed to press Johnson completely allowing a free-shot (which I reckon Krul might have saved had he still been on); played Vaughan onside for the 3rd after giving it away a few seconds earlier. 5 good performances all season from him and I really reckon it's about time we thanked him for his service and packed his bags.

Still, Mignolet, Rose, Sessegnon and much to my surprise, O'Shea were excellent for them. Only Tiote and Krul really looked assured for us. Sissoko had another poor game, after a great start he's really been mediocre of late.

Yup. Hope they enjoy it. I struggle to imagine them staying up while having a run at it though.

They may be looking for promotion instead of avoiding relegation next year! I dont know what it is about you guys, every time you have a result which makes it look like you will pull away, you seem to follow it up with a bad result and push yourself back into trouble. I personally hope sunderland stay up just for the entertainment value that PDC brings, in a league full of dull as dishwater managers eg rodgers, clarke, hughton etc, its nice to see someone a bit different.

It's a bit crazy this season. I think part of it is luck balancing itself out for last season - we had a lot go our way last season, not in terms of decisions, but timings of injuries, timings of playing other teams, fixture list, etc. Everything just went rosy. We were never going to match it, but we should have been able to secure a top 8 finish alongside a Europa League run, but then we've had the opposite in terms of injuries/playing teams at times they get revved up (Sunderland 3 weeks ago would have got thrashed). I think part of it is fatigue, but today we had Saylor, Debuchy, Tiote, Gouffran who didn't play any part on Thursday, and Marveaux starting who only came on for 25 minutes, so we really shouldn't have been THAT tired.

Going back a few posts, I'd agree that Arsenal are far from on fire. We're doing enough to get the job done, which may well see us finish in the top 4. The game tomorrow night against Everton is huge, and to be honest I'm far from confident.

Slightly disappointed on my visit to Shrewsbury on Saturday.

Most of the lower league clubs I've visited have a bar for pre match drinks where supporters of both clubs happily mingle and chat. At Shrewsbury away fans were banned.

We nearly got turned away - the steward had to ask the head steward if neutral supporters were allowed in!

Crap if you like traditional grounds.

Great if you like shiny, new, practical, identikit grounds stuck in the middle of nowhere.

All 4 sides are single tier all seater stands. Big gaps in the corners.

Away fans are housed behind one end. Nearest pub is a good 15 min walk away. Think my ticket was £22.
