TheGayTent
Rooney is awful at the minute, you wont have any argument of me rooney being vastly over rated. Not a very good initial wind up tgt, try harder next time.
TheGayTent
"Man United were much less tepid than I had anticipated and predicted in my pre-match posts. Ferguson will be immensely proud of his players for their never say die attitude and battling qualities, it's a huge point for them and all their followers, one that I'm sure they weren't expecting. As for West Ham, a huge disappointment. Taking into account the considerable gulf in quality between the two sets of players you'd have expected a little more from us. You really should be turning teams like Manchester United over at home, how we haven't will surely be the focus for all the management and players over the next few days. We need to get over this morale crushing 2 points dropped and get focused on the next game. Wigan are a top side and will present us with a much sterner test than we faced tonight, we will have to up our game accordingly."
thetime
My apologies, I was still trying to work out how either of our goals should have been chalked off. Other than the obvious reason that Fergie thought they were unfair

LondonTom
Fantastic point for us, an extra one out of the games I wasn't really expecting ....but I feel like we've deserved to beat Man Utd at least once out of the 4 games this season! pink_triangle
Opinions on introducing the rooney rule to English football? In general I'm all for it, I think that football owners in their head have an image of what a manager looks like which indirectly can cause to discrimination..To at least let more black people through the door for an interview can only be a good thing. Someone like Paul ince in my opinion would never have started in league 2 if he had been white. However I am not sure how many clubs really interview for managerial jobs. Also some players have to lower expectations. I remember someone (think Andy Cole or Ferdinand) talking about how they wanted to get into management and had been turned down by several championship sides. Simple answer to me is apply lower down the pyramid and work up.

pink_triangle
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/apr/16/fa-cup-final-late-kick-off Everytime I hear Alex Horne speak, I dislike the man more and more. His attempt to use viewing figures in 2012 to justify moving the game is completely dishonest. The fact that liverpool v chelsea drew 2 million extra viewers than man city v stoke is nothing to do with the time of the kick off and everthing to do with the teams playing in the relevant matches. I heard him make another ridiculous claim that football fans in general dont use the trains anyway. Its funny that bradford, wrexham and grimsby have all taken significant amount of fans down south by train this season. Maybe he thinks premiership fans travel everwhere by helicopter if they dont want to spend hours stuck on the FAs partners national express. RobertProsineckisLighter
Great news, the amount of community supported trusts is increasing rapidly and only going to increase. Im not going to claim fans will always make the right decisions but at least their hearts are in the right place.

pink_triangle
I feel fan ownership will limit the potential for sucess, the club has to be self financing. In our case that means ticket money alone pretty much. I mean we are now a league two club, we are not going to be able to command large sponsorship deals. Kyelo
Nominations for players of the year... Gareth Bale, Eden Hazard, Christian Benteke, Romelu Lukaku, Danny Welbeck and Jack Wilshere are nominated for the Professional Footballers' Young Player of the Year award. Gareth Bale, Michael Carrick, Eden Hazard, Juan Mata, Luis Suarez and Robin van Persie are nominated for the 2012-13 Professional Footballers' Association Player of the Year award. pink_triangle
PFA player of the year nominations Gareth Bale, Michael Carrick, Eden Hazard, Juan Mata, Luis Suarez and Robin van Persie Quite a predictable list, no doubt Bale, Mata, Suarez and RVP deserve to be in the top 6. I think Carrick and Hazard are a bit more debatable, could make an argument both for and against compared to other players who have had good seasons eg Vertonghen, Michu, Zabaletta etc. To me is should be between Suarez and Bale as (without wanting to use the phrase "one man team") both have been so influential to their teams this season.
