pink_triangle
I actually reckon that ups the chances of Liverpool keeping him. Big teams will be less enthusiastic considering how much of a twat he is. If someone's desperate for a striker AND misses out on Falcao, Cavani and Lewandowski, they may take a punt, but I don't think many would be willing to pay the £30m+ fee 'Pool would want, and there's noone Liverpool could entice that's even close to being of the same quality. Chelsea to miss out on 4th place again? Still to play Man U, Spurs and Everton.

kaosmark2
I haven't seen the incident but I disagree it makes him less likely to stay. Instead I suspect the clubs who are looking at him will be rubbing their hands together at the chance to knock a bit of money off the transfer fee. I have no doubt there will be no shortage of managers who will feel they are the man to control him and many will accept the inevitable transgressions are worth what he offers on the pitch. In the summer there will be more clubs looking for top strikers than top strikers available, so I suspect there will be no shortage of offers. I personally hope Chelsea miss out, it would be hilarious and slightly make up for the inevitable memory of John Terry lifting the Europa league in a few weeks time. pink_triangle
Which clubs will be looking for a top striker that have the money for one? Chelsea, Bayern, City? The Italian clubs don't have money, the Spanish giants aren't short up front, Man U SHOULD prioritise elsewhere and wouldn't consider Suarez. The Italian clubs are short of financial muscle atm. One of Real/Barca/Man U will probably buy up front but I imagine they'll be more eager to claim younger player to develop than a superstar. With Cavani/Falcao/Lewandowski almost certain to move and Neymar possibly I can't see the demand for Suarez being huge, I imagine most would want one of the others more. thetime
Not realistic is it though? Cantona was only suspended in the FA's wishes and his was worse! Keane wasn't suspended by United for Haaland etc. Spurs didn't ban Defoe!
kaosmark2
I suspect Juventus have more money than people think, they have been in a market for a forward but missed out on everyone. I think a second successive serie a title and champions league quarter final will make the club more attractive to players. I suspect now they have the foundations in place they will look to take it to the next level. The money may not be as much as people think, if Liverpool feel they have to get rid of him and suarez wants to leave, it will only bring the price down. As for other clubs the 3 you mentioned are obvious choices and you can also add PSG to the list. I wouldn't discount the 2 Spanish giants recruiting up front either. I think its possible Villa could leave, although Barca may trust the youth to replace him. As for Madrid it will probably be a new manager and new galactico signing, I could see one of Higuain or Benzema leaving to freshen things up a bit. Neymars an interesting player, I am almost certain that he will stay until after the world cup. I think this is a huge mistake, while he is clearly very talented he has looked a bit lightweight against top European opposition and a years experience would only benefit him and Brazil in terms of the world cup. pink_triangle
I have heard a few people say liverpool should suspend him. I completely disagree, the FA has a disciplinary process and this is the correct route to go through. ON a regular basis throughout season footballers punch, elbow, do dangerous tackles and their clubs never suspend them. Just because ite Suarez and the crime is different, does not mean it should be treated any differently. To me the time for a club to suspend a player is when they have put their hands on a fan/referee but incidents on a pitch should be dealt with by the normal procedures. I certainly wouldnt excuse what Suarez did, but I doubt he went on the pitch with the intention to bite Ivanovic. Some fans are treating the incident as if its on a par with Keane on Haaland. If ever there was an incident where a player should never have been allowed to play for his club again its this, in fact he should have been sent down the criminal route for what he did. I have heard a few also drag up Suarez handball against Ghana, talk about dicussing something completely irrelevant to the argument! TheGayTent
The little shit Defoe did the same thing against us and got just a yellow card. Consistency as usual is the thing that annoys supporters.

Essex_George
Sort of. Utd knew they had to ban him themselves first and the longer they banned him the less the FA would. That was the idea anyway. Everyone was pretty shocked he got another 4 months. Anyway this isn't comparable. Cantona was provoked and assaulted someone. Suarez bit someone - one of the big no nos - along with racism and spitting. Totally unprovoked too.
The Nal
Who defines the big no nos? I would say a premeditated asault like Keane on Haaland was worse and far more likely to cause physical damage. pink_triangle
Happens a lot though. Players taking people out. Keano was just stupid enough to admit it. Theres a few players at LFC (Gerrard) who have made worse tackles than that on multiple occasions. But its not the same thing. I'm seeing a lot of comparison with Keane and Cantona for some reason. Makes no sense. Kicking fan - biting fellow professional. Nah. Doesn't matter which is "worse". The comparison is a silly one. Cantona kicked that idiot back in January 95. Amazing how far back people will go to deflect blame from a player. Nearly 20 years?! For the record I don't think LFC should get rid of Suarez based on this but they should suspend him for the rest of the season purely to avoid a bigger ban from the FA. The Nal
I dont see it as deflecting blame, more trying to get consistency which everyone wants. When Defoe bit a fellow professional there was no suspension, have the rules been changed since? If not should Suarez get a far more significant punishment now. I dont agree the comparison is silly, what Suarez did is incredibly f**** up, but if I had to choose as a professional I would rather have that than a player intentionally going to break my leg. Im certainly not saying he should get away unpunished but I think any punishment needs to be realtive to other footballing crimes. Also disagree about liverpool suspending the player. The FA has disciplinary procedures for on the pitch incdients and I think they should be followed whether its liverpool or lewisham.
