Benj
Would Colin Jackson give back all his world championship, European championship, and commonwealth gold medals for one Olympic gold? Would Fabregas swap his world cup winners medal for an olympics winners medal?
eFestivals
I quite fancy a look at Uruguay. my god they were dire. I know it wasn't the full/normal international squad, but I still expected much more from what is currently the 2nd best international footie team. eFestivals
RVP gone to Juve already? if he has, it's meaningless if/until Juve have reached agreement with Arsenal.

eFestivals
Good read for LFC fans. Well, not great but theres light on the horizon. Decent article. did someone need to write a long article to state what everyone knew, that LFC's main current problem is the lack of goals scored? But I don't really even see that lack of goals as a major problem that they need to address to "turn this goal-scoring decline around". They of course need the ball to be going into the net, but I really can't see them having such as poor goals per shot ratio next season as they did this season. I don't know how their 'shots made' stats stack up or how they compare with other teams, but I'd guess that they were probably in the top 5 for the league last season. And while stats like that don't tell the whole story - cos a shot made doesn't necessarily mean a real chance of a goal - my casual take on things tells me that they were in the main good chances, and that 'poor luck' played at least as big a part as any poor play by the players. I can't see that being repeated over a second season. Having said all of that, there's certainly room for improvement cos they've been in need of a decent striker for a few seasons now, and maybe Borini will be it. But if everything was equal next season I still reckon they'd have seen an improvement next season. Bad luck turns around sooner or later. eFestivals
They were. Hit the post a silly amount of times. yup, as well as had goalies save shots that nine times out of ten they wouldn't have saved. Mind you, against that, they had Downing taking shots. The point is, while many of those shots-but-not-goals were down to poor play, many of them weren't and in a different season they'd have gone in. So while they need the shots to go in this season and improve their scoring, I think that would happen if nothing about the team changed; so with improvements to the team (if they happen of course, and things don't go the other way) there should be a greater improvement with scoring than there is an improvement with the team. TheGayTent
The ginge back. £2.5m is nothing in modern times. Not a great player - certainly prone to lapses in concentration, and giving away goals, though easily good enough for a top flight side looking to finished between 10th and 17th. Hardly excited by the signing, but happy enough.
kaosmark2
I wouldn't say £2.5m is nothing, considering that's the average fee paid out by clubs like Wigan and WBA since they got promoted. Not a bad signing though. Lower Prem quality defender, and that's the aim really.
pink_triangle
why he would want to go to italy is beyond me, weak league and massive corruption. I think he actully thought the spanish giants might bid for him, im hoping united stay clear of him.
thetime
The only way of producing a really high quality league would be a European super league.
eFestivals
I think its pretty obvious van persie wants the united gig, cant see united upping there bid due to his age and injury record though. Funny as fuck if he is left to rot on the bench for the next year. supposedly RVP is going on their trip to (I think it is?) Germany .... and it would be more funny as fuck if he plays and gets injured.

pink_triangle
Well that would be the end to football. I hate the champiions league in the present format, if your one of the major sides in england it used to be ultra exciting when you played the likes of barcelona, real madrid etc etc but now its more or less every year. It should be like it used to be in european football with the european cup, uefa cup and cup winners cup.

eFestivals
Was it not a "boring" city? ahh, it might have been, yeah. What I read tho was written in a way that implied that he was meaning that Manchester would bore him - which I took to mean more than just the city & area.
