1. They sacked him a year to the day he won their first league in 44 years.

2. They sacked him on the same day Utd had their parade through Manchester.

3. They didn't even give him a chance to say goodbye on the last home game this Sunday.

Just classless rubbish. I really thought they'd be a bit different to Chelski but they are not at all. The head of the City supporters club said its the worst thing he's seen at the club in 40 years. And hes seen some bad shit. Relegation a couple of times etc.

I think it's ridiculous that they haven't given him until the end of the season, but it's easy to see why.

For all the fact he did such a good job over previous seasons, and finished 2nd in the league, the league was barely a competition. Went out of the Champions League without a single win. Didn't win a trophy. The football wasn't as exciting or effective as last season, fell out with a number of players year on year.

I still don't think he's deserved the sack, but it seemed fairly inevitable after losing the cup. The circumstances of toughest group in the Champs Lge, missing out on top signings, the signings they did make being injured/shit. All of that plays a part, but the season has been disappointing. And I suspect they had Pelligrini earmarked all season unless they go all out to get Mourinho.

If your going to run a club in a sensible manner you have to accept that some season are better than expected and others worse. Clearly there is a limit to what is acceptable as worse, but to me that would be struggling for top 4.

To come second in the league and fa cup is one of the best seasons in their history. There are a very limited amount of trophies available and its inevitable that some years you end up with nothing as man u did on occasions under fergie.

City should have done better in Europe but most will accept getting 2 potential tournament winners in your group is extremely tough. To me their season turned in preseason when (excluding nastasic) they bought in a lot of mediocrity. It appeared they missed most top targets and I think those in charge of transfer negotiation are more culpable than mancini for this.

Whilst not as ridiculous as chelsea sacking Ancelotti for losing the title by one point, it's pretty damn close. City got unlucky in the champs league with their draw, but this is just the nature of the beast.

Think over the next year we'll see a lot of the first wave of city players get the boot when better options become available.

With Wigan relegated and Moyes and Fergie leaving the average tenure of a premiership manager is going to be significantly reduced next season. Only 2 (Wenger and Pullis) are what I would call long standing managers and the latter could also decide he has taken stoke as far as he could. Im not even sure who will have the next longest reign with their club, maybe Alladyce?

Why the negativity towards Wigan? Yes they're a small club, yes Dave Whelan is a bellend (by the way, did you hear, he broke his leg in the FA cup final. You might have missed that story). But they are well run, live within their means(as far as i know) and the fans they have are pretty loyal. considering how close much bigger teams are answer they do play attractive football considering what a lot of teams in their position might do

I havent sensed that much negativity. I think most people would have liked them to stay up (I would personally rather see them in the premiership than stoke or norwich) and were glad they won th fa cup final. I think relegation was inevitable eventually but they had a fantastic run. I think they have moved towards living within their means (profit last 2 years), but whether this will continue in the championship who knows. Its quite possible one day the well will dry up and they will return to being a league1/league 2 side but the fans have had a great ride. A lot of sniffy lower league fans hate seeing a team move up the leagues based on a benefactor but i think a lot of that is jealousy.

As you say their football is attractive and they have some good players. Unfortunately the defending is some of the most calamatous I have seen in the league
