A lot of money floating around Group A, could be interesting seeing how they do.

I fancy Schalke to cause Arsenal some problems, but they should get through that comfortably.

Shakhtar, Juve and Chelski is an interesting 3-way qualifying challenge.

Barca should breeze their group, but the other teams could all just about qualify. Benfica probably favs, but Moscow could do something.

Easy for Milan and Man U (again), although it'll be interesting seeing Malaga after their spending spree last summer and flogging spree this one.

Horrible group for Citeh again, although some very juicy ties there. I might try and watch most of Dortmund's games.

Looks like the Sunderland interest in Dempsey has forced Liverpool's hand with Carroll.

Now in real discussions with WHU.

Before I continue, some breaking news to tell you about. Liverpool striker Andy Carroll is in London to finalise a season-long loan move to West Ham. The 23-year-old England international is expected to undergo a medical in the next few hours before completing a move to London. It is understood there is no commitment to buy the player at the end of the loan period but it should allow Liverpool to free up funds to move for Fulham striker Clint Dempsey.

I dont agree Liverpool for all there faults managed 2 cup finals last season and they havent really weakened their side. They raise their games against big teams which makes them a dangerous cup side. They also pay more than fulham and thereofre have more potential to attract better players in the future. Not convinced about Dempsey, theres nothing to make a judgement on how he would cope at a club with bigger names and more expectations, but my gut instinct is that he is someone better off as a big fish in a small pond.

Dempsey's easily good enough to play for Liverpool and will improve their team a lot. He (and Dembele) were far too good for Fulham (I am a Fulham fan but can admit this) and to be honest it amazes me only Liverpool have gone in for him.

Glad we finally got andy will pay for himself if he manages to get his goal scoring boats on!! (I'd imagine we are at least paying the majority of his wages now, seems different from the previous with 2million up front and commitment to buy if we stay up), apparently we are in for another striker before the deadline to :S
