What's happened to Enrique? He was cracking for us and for the first 4 months at 'Pool, but it seems Glen's played there for a few weeks.

he's been injured ... tho I thought he played last week against City? (I've not seen the game, but I think I thought I'd read he was back for that game).

Anyway, from what I've read Enrique is defo Rodgers 1st choice left back, and has been injured, but is due back around now.

I'm not entirely sure he's going to stay as 1st choice left back tho. I thought he went to shit big time in the 2nd half of the season, and I was actually pleasantly surprised with how Downing did last night as left back - so I can see Downing probably getting a good number of games ahead of Enrique, tho those games might be mainly the 'lesser' games.

Theres no way Bolton would pay his whole wages, I suspect half at the most. To be honest I think liverpool would be better off selling him, they are only delaying the problem for a year, he will never be good enough for liverpool. Maybe they think getting him in the shop window is the only way to get rid.

I think you're probably right about not ever quite making the grade at Liverpool, tho he was far from the weakest player for them last season. He might have a future as a squad player, perhaps.

And I think there's quite possibly a bit of niceness going on from the club for him, because of his history with them. And unlike with Downing/Carroll/Adam, etc, there's no transfer fee been paid for him (unless peanuts as a kid?), so I'd guess they'd be less of a feeling of needing to recoup something for him - which is probably why he's been given a further chance with the club via a loan.

And the loan is only 6 months too - and so I guess from that he's still in Rodgers mind in some manner. I don't think he's spent much time out on loan (if any?), so perhaps Rodgers is thinking that he'll be worth having when he's had a chunk more match experience.
