how is it getting to the shuttle bus in leuven ?

I'd go for depeche mode, something different, plus having done the festivals for a few years, to see four headliners I've never seen before would be a novelty.

That would make rammstein the newest headliner out of the lot, surreal. Anyone found decent flights yet from Manchester or Liverpool, cheapest I've found so far is around a ton!

Definitely going back to RW for 2013. Went this year and it was AMAZING. We coached it from Liverpool to Brussels though and it was a nightmare 15hours on a coach definitely wasnt my idea of fun!

So i think we're going to fly from lpool this time, if not we'll possibly get the coach down to ldn(cos its cheap) and then eurostar to brussels.

I was planning on going to Rock am Ring, but Rock Werchter is looking too good. Has anyone been to both festivals and fancies giving me a bit of a comparison between the two? Or if not, is there anyone that fancies making my mind up for me by telling me how good the festival is? Cheeeers!

You'll get a more diverse lineup at werchter (in fairness both are diverse, but rock am ring still has a lot of metal acts). The atmosphere is worlds apart though, werchter is chilled, the ring is mental, depends what you want from it.

From what you've said, it seems like there's very little difference between the two festivals, only the line up to be honest! I'm seriously considering going. I've been to the last three Rock am Rings and I love it, ideally I'd go to both but I'm changing jobs and I'm not gonna be able to be so cheeky with time off. Werchters looking very strong, out of the bands announced so far I can maybe see RaR getting Green Day but not Blur, and Rammstein are already at another German festival. Choosing festivals is so hard! Has anyone driven over from the uk before? I can't imagine it's that difficult.

Well a few find the crowd to laid back compared to uk fests, I like that persobally. Not much pushing, barging

my girlfriend was pretty much choked out trying to get to the front circle for pearl jam so that sentence right there isn't true.

and all for them to just stand like plums when pearl jam actually came on stage. was well raging!

When I went the only anti social behaviour I saw was a couple of pissed up Metallica fans, but the atmosphere at the place is very, very laid back.

Ive never found it like that but I dont go right at the front much, especially not the headliners.

I think foos were due to play but with pukkelpop they played there.

Wrong. Heard Bruce Springsteen was due to play on saturday this year but he decided to have al little tour break during werchter. Because there were no other big bands available they chose Editors.
