TITP forum?

Rather than reading through 15 pages can someone explain why the forum was removed?

Countless people helped me lose my festival virginity last weekend and I really wanted to jump online and talk about it today. I assume there's a good reason it was removed, but surely that doesn't outweight the good it did for people like myself.

To be honest In the months before T I enjoyed coming on here daily to read and talk about the festival. 90% of people on the forum shared their views fairly and gave vital info out. To see it banned is extremely disappointing and I highly doubt il be back on this site in the future as T is the only festival I am able to attend.

On another note the admin of this forum is a complete farce. He is ignorant to mostly all users on this and his attitude stinks and has been like that since the day I joined. As an admin he is supposed to be neutral in most aspects but obviously he is allowed an opinion and a lot of arguments I came accross in the T forum were through his own cause by stirring up and putting down what others would say and could not help himself get involved in everything negatively.

I have now decided to say this because since there is no T forum I could not care less if I now get banned. Lot of good folk on here and I hope soon you will get the forum back for them.

I think the current trend in dance music in T can confinue but I think it can co exist with rock/alternative. For instance Jack White would be a perfect king tuts headliner but if he where to take top billing but play second last (as the pet shop boys did) and have a 'current' DJ like say Afrojack, that could strike a decent balance.

Has anyone got a copy of the stage splits that were the final straw? I've got an alternative theory as to why the forum was shut down but would like to see them first.

I have no problem with dance music, (I enjoyed faithless and Groove Armada in recent times) I do have a problem with people standing there playing other peoples records and others singing badly along to a backing track. This is not live music and I will not pay for it. If that's what Ellis sees as the future then, for that reason, I'm out! :)

Your spot on there. Ive not really said anything either (from what I remember) but ive seen several arguments on the T forum and every one of those arguments involved the moderator. He's made it perfectly clear that he hates TITP which is fair enough (your allowed an opinion) but then you come into a T forum and to keep criticising it (trolling his own forum?) and not expect abit of a backlash is just plain strange and when that backlash comes to then just delete the forum instead of just staying out of it is just absurd.

your fantasies are running riot.

your theory will be wrong.

It was not shut due to any one incident, but the constant display by its users that they're not worthy of a forum.

I think this ticket deposit scheme is a sign of desperation from the promoters. T's had a lot of bad press recently, I reckon this will be T20 will be a very important year for them in terms of where they go next. I actually thought the layout was much better, the sunset strip idea is good and there was plenty going on on Thursday. For me they need 2 real blue chip headliners. The stone roses where a masive coup but that still wasnt enough to convince a lot of people (regulars included).

Main Stage

Green Day/Biffy Clyro

Lady Gaga/Bloc Party

David Bowie/Rihanna

NME

Plan B/Dizzee Rascal

QOTSA/Jack White

Chemical Brothers/LMFAO

King Tuts

Underworld/Maximo Park

Franz Ferdinand/Sub Focus

Afrojack/The Charlatans

Slam Tent

Richie Hawtin

Justice

Jeff Mills

If they announced something of that calibre with stage splits quicker I reckon that'd sell out no bother.

Were it up to me I would have (and anyone still alive were willing to be booked) some are prob on the wrong stages just trying to get everyone I want in.

Main

Jay Z & Kanye

The Libertines

David Bowie

NME:

Daft Punk

Black Keys

Kraftwerk

King Tuts:

Texas

No Doubt

Garbage

Slam:

Dave Clarke

Aphex Twin

Carl Cox

Edit: actually let's put them all on the one stage with 60-90 min sets each (Bowie can have 2 hours) the Slam acts can still be in the Slam tent but they will start at midnight and play for two hours.

Neil insults loads of people on this forum. It's not something special about T-attendees.

what is special tho is their feeling of victimisation about it, and how they believe straight talking at people who happen to be Scottish HAS TO BE racism.

Still, it's dead funny if nothing else.

After closing the T forum, the arguments, abuse and trolling have now just carried on the 'other' and 'glasto' forums!

Not much of a solution really.

It's a part of the solution. There's other bits to lined-up, but I'm giving some people a short opportunity to wise up.

I'm not going to let how things are right now become the norm. People who believe their right to shout about how self-important they are are is more important than the rights of others to use these forums won't be here much longer.

not
