Not quite so sure it’s waffle.
The undercard still has a good handful of quality acts, but definitely less so than normal on the top and mid card. The top end of the festival has been gradually moving this direction - and with ticket sales going as well as they have this year I can absolutely see them trying to keep that momentum and try to have their cake and eat it with future editions.
I'm not sure I believe that, it's not like they didn't know who they were paying before. Beyonce also took a hell of a lot of younger crowd with that. She was 29/30 when she payed, not 40+
Yeah I mean we camped in red on nice flat ground in 08/09 and we had a great time despite the thieves next to us the second year....not our stuff taken thankfully, and site wise there wasn't an issue. The ball ache of dragging everything from the car park along the riverfront to the entrance wasn't exactly fun. No chance I'll ever return with it costing £55 alone to park for a day l, the same as weekend. That's actually daughter properly and slanderous. Worse than Download and that's a joke that's bad enough.
Looking at the Cruel World setlists, I think Duran Duran got 16 songs, the second tier acts got 12, then 9 and 6. There's a lot of acts on at Forever Now that are similar sized, but I guess The The and Billy Idol look like being touted as next down after Kraftwerk. I suspect The Damned will be the 2nd stage headliners as they're performing The Black Album in full, which is quite lengthy.
