35 years old this year and considering going off site to the Wetherspoons for the first time for a brekkie and pint. How close is it to the Reading site and how the f**k do you get there?

Is it even worth the trek or would it be better to go to the leisure instead (i've always thought that sounded shit)?

Cheers

if you walk towards reading town centre (30ish mins walk) there's a few spoons, it could be worth the walk if you knew the area as there a few that locals know about that others don't, but its hard to find them if you aren't local. not worth the trip every day though, only possibly on the thursday if you have an early bird ticket ;)

There's a Weetherspoons in Caversham over the bridge and round to the right http://www.jdwethers...e-baron-cadogan which has to be closer than the one in the town centre, plus you can leave the site by the river entrance at the end of Cow Lane and just stroll along to the bridge.

If you go over the bridge and round to the left you'll find The Griffin which is a Chef & Brewer pub http://www.thegriffincaversham.co.uk/, so a little more pricey. They may do festival breakfasts.

The Gorge is the best breakfast but as it's on the end of Richfield Avenue it gets busy very quickly. I've been there a few times while camping at around 7am and it was fine but when you walk past there during the day it's packed.

As Benj said most pubs on the way into and in the town will be doing breakfasts so you shouldn't have to worry about finding a Weatherspoons.

It is, also The Moderation round the corner from The Gorge is a good bet.

As Chas says there's also a Weatherspoons in Caversham and The Prince of Wales on the same street so there are plenty of options without walking into town (although they'll obviously be busier than the town pubs as they're closer).
