T in the Park 2013

For me, I agree that the main stage has always featured what was the thing at the time...and the times change. Interesting point about all the other stuff that used to go on away from the main stage. The youth of today have their phones to play with and perhaps spend more time at the campsite with a can in one hand and facebook in the other and only bother heading in to the main arena to see the big thing of the time eg Rihanna.

As the more " obscure " tents saw less and less traffic they probably decided it wasn`t worth the hassle and eventually your left with only the bigger stages / tents.

So, depending what way you look at it, T either got lazy and stopped catering for the other stuff or they accepted that was no longer what people wanted so don`t bother trying to provide it.

Eventually all festivals could go that way before going full circle for another generation eg I tried and failed to get a Glastonbury ticket and suspect that more and more youngsters with their fancy apps and facebook gangs are snapping up the tickets. If glastonbury just becomes a tick in their young gap year box and they have all the tickets then who will spend time at all the weird and wonderful areas that people say make glastonbury " special " and if no one goes to these areas how will they survive.....Perhaps T is just further down this particular road or perhaps I`m talking shite !!!

It's chatter like this that that makes me wish there was still Connect fest or a festival that booked a little closer to Bestival/Electric Picnic up here (hey Rockness..), something that would attract the more pet sound/transmission visitor types of the world.

I've had my fill of negative for now, lineups out in a month and a half, anyone want to do a guessing game?

Yeah hmmm ... I would say nme headliners

Friday- BIffy Clyro

Saturday- Black Keys

Sunday- Deadmau5

Other acts- Jack white, Fun, gaslight anthem, 30 seconds to mars, 50 cent, will I am, haim, madeon, psy ( -_- almost certain), and I don't know why I keep thinking they will be there but Linkin park. Those are the acts I think will be there

I'd like to see Crystal Castles, The Gaslight Anthem and Feeder headline the Transmissions tent, those would all be great shows.

EDIT: stab at a few stage headliners/subs

Main Stage

Mumford & Sons - The Black Keys

Rihanna - Plan B

The Killers - Jack White

NME Stage

Nero

Stereophonics

Skrillex

King Tuts

The Vaccines

Editors

Bloc Party

Transmissions Tent

Feeder

The Gaslight Anthem

Crystal Castles

Probably quite optimistic, but I would be spoiled for choice there

Disagree with you. They are headlining R & L, a festival this coming August off the back of an arena tour yet to take place yet which wasn't hard to get tickets for. Like or not, it is a weak headliner choice. had they have done their arena tour, it sold, been and gone and then announced for R & L, it'd be much different.

T can have them easily, they have history of having R & L bands slots lower on their lineup, they also have a history of booking Biffy. It's been said that NME/Subs can headline other festivals, I'd be shocked not to see them there.
