thetime
Suppose you're correct but in this financial climate I'd be trying to attract everyone I can by being as diverse as possible. Even if you're right that it's always been for , say 18 - 25 year olds, they are maybe not the age group with cash and they need to formulate a bill that'll appeal to a lot of different age groups
Red Day
Totally agree red day. If your aiming at the 18-25 age group and there not buying tickets like they used to, then where are the ticket sales going to come from? Isnt it best for all festivals to have bands that all age groups can enjoy and buy tickets?
Paul ™
Less good festivals is an interesting point you make, as T is apparantly in the top 5 music festivals in the world you can experience. And some have it firmly as a top

thetime
There is at least 3 websites that cover world music festivals that all agree with this. Can't be mine, I've never been but I've read it before. It's also websites that put Glasto and Coachella within 1-3rd places so it's no shitting. thewayiam
How many festivaks have these people been to? I wouldnt take much notice of it if I was you. I would class titp the same way as reading/leeds/v

Gingo
I think you would be hard pushed to find a better crowd as into it in the uk for the big festivals anyway, definitely from peoples opinions iv heard that have went to quite a few, not sure this would put it into being a top festival however

eFestivals
T is apparantly in the top 5 music festivals in the world you can experience. And some have it firmly as a top 10It's not even top 50 in my book.
eFestivals
Suppose you're correct but in this financial climate I'd be trying to attract everyone I can by being as diverse as possible.and that's precisely what T did last year*, and what it looks like being again this year.(when I'm agreeing with 'diverse', I mean a diverse range of very mainstream stuff. It's only ever done mainstream). There's still more indie landfill on the bill than anyone could see, but there's now also stuff that is able to attract people who don't like or are long bored of the mountain of indie landfill. eFestivals
I think you would be hard pushed to find a better crowdit depends how you measure a good crowd. If being the most pissed is a measure, then T certainly wins that one. If being the least discerning is a measure, then T probably wins that one too. Those two things certainly add up to a rowdy crowd, but to put it as best IMO you'd also have to rate pure pop music as the best cos it sells the most of individual songs.Bands saying "you're the best crowd ever" means naff all, cos most of the bands who say that at T also say it at most of their shows. I've even seen one band say that at T and then slag the T crowd off at a another festie show a week or two later (while telling that different crowd that they're the best). thewayiam
Your basing how good a festival is by the line up then? How can a festival be a top 5 festival if your going on solely on lineup? Some years they will have a good lineup some average as its personal taste. Every persons taste is different would you not say? Titp probably wouldnt get in the top 5 in the uk never mind the world. I used to go to titp every year and is pretty much the same as the festivals I have mentioned, sometines they have better lineups but sometimes they dont. marky3
I've agreed with most things you've said Neil, this though is blatently bullshit. You've said on here repetitively, that TiTP has kept it's ticket sales better than most, it's renknowned us Scots are tight basterds and won't fork out for much, so clearly if such a limited population was willing to fork out such a price then the Festival wasn't half bad, and as far as small festivals go Rockness is certainly one of the better ones. When talking about Festivals you're usally correct, when talking about Scotland you certainly come across as a bigot though, which is disappointing, sort it out. thetime
nope, I'm not as the original post with me saying it had nothing lineup based, wasn't even my opinion as i said I've never been.

LondonTom
I can, what they going to do as well as T in the Park if they wait and headline 14? They are not going to headline V or Glasto, and I don't see a big outdoor show of their own.
Gingo
It's better than V/Reading....even Glastonbury in some ways (For the mainstage/pryamid at least.). I think lots of crowd turnover between acts help's with it. (At least it was in 09). I'd go back if they got a decent lineup as the crowd is mostly brilliant...then again at points in the campsite, there was a bit of a nasty vibe about. (This can happen at any festival mind, I've had that feeling in the late night area and West Holts/Brothers Bar(at night) before to.)
