He actually wouldnt be seen dead at T now thats why he stopped going years ago , slags me for going the git , the only way you will get him back to T is if 4 acts play , Smashing Pumpkins , Radiohead, Pearl Jam or Bowie himself comes :)

He wants to do Glastonbury for his 60th which will be next year , happy days :)

Yeah hes going with his friends im really gutted ill not be there its my step boys birthday and then were off to T :( was hoping for a T announcement with them headling the NME , too much to ask lol :)

Red amazing headliners but not in Ts demographic now which is a shame because any of them playing would make the line up look tasty :)

Anybody think this may be an answer to the split?

Headliners and Subs:

Top 2 rows with respective days (Mumfords to Killers; C&S to Stereo)

R1 and King Tuts Headliners:

Next 2 acts for each day (ie Friday R1: Calvin, Tut's: Kraftwerk; Sat R1: Guetta, Tut's: Sande; Sun R1: Frank Ocean, Tut's Snoop)

Third maintage:

Next 3 acts with respective days (ie Fri: Beady Eye; Sat:Dizzee; Sun: Foals)

Not sure about the rest but it seems Alt J, YYY's and TDCC are with respective days (TDCC is 14th and are supporting The KIllers in Dublin on the 13th) so whether they are R1 subs or Main 4th's is hard to tell in my opinion (keep changing my mind as to me they really could be either however at the moment I suspect R1 subs 4th main as YYY's and TDCC played the R1 sub slot last time they played).

So far the dates listed fit in but of course the formula is flimsy after that point and there are some odd placings according to it (eg Frank Ocean as R1 Headliner and Sande as Tut's) but that's just my opinion, not the bookers.

Edit: Snoop's playing Saturday (didn't check) thefore I reckon, if there is a formula, he's just there to fill a slot with Frank Ocean headling Tut's on Sunday with a yet TBC Sunday R1 headliner.

I don't feel alienated I'm just going to vote with my feet. There are plenty of alternatives, T was just handy. Of the people I know that aren't going this year, that's £10k not going to the festival that they used to get without even announcing a band! I suppose they are still getting it as I'm going to Leeds and Download and at the end of the day they are all the same company.

You're right, seems that the ideal headliners Geoff goes for must be radio 1 darlings, or top the itunes chart. Nothing against some of that type of stuff being headliners but it's a bit short sighted on his part. Said it before, but if I was him I'd try and get a varied line up that attracts as many punters as possible. He seems to be alienating a lot of regulars with the direction he's taking the festival.

In fairness, if you like rock acts why on earth have you been going to a mainstream festival like T which just follows what is universally popular at that time? in 2009 "rock" was the most popular genre so there was more rock, now "pop" is definitely and undoubtedly the most popular.

So if you are a bigger fan of rock why haven't you been going to Download? Just out of interest...

Loyalty to a few different factors. Plus there was always something I managed to go see. Last year was utter shite and I don't see any improvements this year.

Download is a fair treck and I'm normally lucky to get Glastonbury tickets, so that covers the English festival. Extra costs the same month to go to DL is also a consideration..... Oh and I'm married. :nea:
