Next year; I reckon it's a given Biffy will headline, they've pretty much just broken into mainstream success and maybe their coachella set will give them some US success also!

Arcade Fire could do it? However they are doing glastonbury next year I believe... I reckon it's possible!

Justin Timberlake maybe? Could see it happening!

Demographic this demographic that blah blah yadda yadda. Bollox. Big rock bands = sell out but less profit. Nursery rhyme pop bands = less people but more profit NOW but not long term. Fleeced and hung out to dry, that's you that is, those of you still paying music festival prices for button pressers and mime artists with the odd cheap guitar band thrown in.Tennents to pull the plug and be replaced by Sunny D and Kopparberg strawberry and lime within 5 years. You heard it here first.

Download ticket arrived today at the same time as Sabbath at teh Hydro was booked. I'll do a survey of the sell out crowd whilst I'm there to see who would have gone to T to watch them if there were other real bands on teh line up. In fact I'll start now.......

1> devilman (actually I'd go if the rest of the line up was gaga and likki minje)

As long as there are enough acts I would want to see to make it worth my while going I will continue to buy a ticket, I realise that these acts may not be the biggest or best but its an enjoyable weekend with my pals. For going to see acts that I love I will see them at their own gigs or go to another festival that suits my tastes more like Download this year. Then got tickets for Eminem, Fleetwood Mac, Sabbath and Alter Bridge later in the year so far.

Depends on if you plan on taking any food/snacks yourselves or plan to buy everything there.

It's not cheap for food/drink

  • Main meals about £6-7 upwards
  • Burgers about £3.50
  • breakfast rolls about £3
  • £2/£2.50 for chips
  • £2.00 a 500ml juice
  • £4.00 a pint

20 quid on your program on lanyard, I usually take the majority of my own food for the campsite, good few pot noodles and a some pringles and crisps will get through the campsite, I usually buy one meal a day at about 6 quid.

So that's 44 quid straight away, depends on how much you drink.

I take around £150, usually spend around £100 - £120 dont buy alcohol in the arena so its mainly spent on a lanyard/program when I get there, juice/water in the arena and the rest is mainly on food
