Personally ive always been a fan of Eminem and despite a couple of shoddy albums i particularly love his newest one, however having a headliner only 3 years later is a bit poor, i think there should be a 4/5 year gap minimum for main headliners, so that is one credible thing T has done this year with 2 new headliners

Where does everyone get their albums sales figures from? Whilst I'm glad for the Mumfords to be doing well in the states, the UK wasn't part of the states the last time I got an atlas out. If you want to include US sales as part of the reasoning for booking headliners, next year we'll have Daniel O'Donnell, Dolly Parton and Dionne Warwick as headliners. There are far better folk and rock bands out there and it pisses me off a bit that they have done so well through a contrived image and clever marketing. They do play their own instruments though which I suppose is something and one or two of their songs are ok but if you've heard one...............

I'd rather have Eminem if I'm honest, at least he's done something to justify a headline slot. I watched Arcade Fire at T a few years ago too when the oft mentioned "demographic" was a bit wider. I couldn't quite get them then but some of their stuff since has been brilliant. Far more worthy of the top spot but that would be a step too far away from the Radio 1 current playlist to be realistic.

There's always gonna be people who will be happy with a headliner as they all have a lot of people in to their music, hence how they have been chosen to headline a festival.

I just meant that someone who would have to be on the top of a lot of festival wish lists using the logic that number 1s = acceptable headliners isn't always the case, as Madonna would face a lot of backlash.

The headliners don't excite most of my group and after us shelling out this time last year on the roses announcement, and being really dissapointed with the majority of the lineup.we are reserving judgement on a ticket purchase till the line up is announced.

I have however heard the undercard and the subs are very impressive, no details on who but a very high caliber. All to be revealed in February. So it could end up a bit of a scramble for tickets!!

Whoever told you that probably thinks the headliners are strong.

There are lots of other festivals announcing headline acts at this time of year, so rather than it being a scramble for T tickets in Feb, it could be the other extent where the money has gone elsewhere. T is not showing any loyalty to its regular customers so why should they hang around?
