There's plenty of us of all ages that will pay to see proper music for someone to cater to us.

'then I suggest you phone up Melvin Benn and tell him where these mythical people are hiding, because R/L has stuck to the sort of line-up you're advocating for T and its sales has slumped far more than the T sales have. laugh.png'

If anything, i see Melvin getting Eminem to headline reading next year as him conceding more towards the T model. I reckon acts like Example and Plan B will be playing Reading soon ( If not next year)

I think if you want 'proper' music, you have to go to a smaller festival, becuase the fans who want to go to watch 'proper music' clearly are getting smaller.

Neil misses the obvious that to get to headliner status a band actually has to do several years if not decades of hard yards. The bands I named were headliner status bands that were not rock that I thought were decent. Not the ones I have written on my pencil case! As I've said several times, you really would be surprised at some of the entries in my music collection. I have next to none of those referred to! Quite how you know you're older than me is a bit disconcerting, are you stalking me? Or just guessing? Anyways, if not liking shite pop music mime artists makes me old, it makes a shit load of 15-30 year olds that I know old too. I shall inform them that they are now past it according to oracle who knows it all on the internet :)

Of maybe 50 regular T goers that I am pally with none are going back this year. I only know 2 that are going. Last year was their first T so they don't know how good it used to be.

now, who are this year's headliners? I have a feeling not all have done several decades but all have done several years. :)

nope, I've just paid attention to things you've said in your many posts.

Your memory is obviously poor. There was a post where you made a point of suggesting to me or telling me precisely (I forget exactly which) age you are (i think in the belief at the time that you'd be older than me).

the difference is that those 15-30 year olds probably get modern music even if they don't like it.

Or they're fixated on their dad's record collection for some strange reason. You'd like to think that they'd be smart enough to go on a musical discovery of their own as you did.

or perhaps they just didn't enjoy the mud this year?

Anyway devilman, I hope you've put in an application for TV's 'Grumpty Old Men' - I reckon you might be their youngest yet, but the grumpiest. :P

I've just had a thought, what if Blues source is correct in their opinion of T having really good subs and NME headers and when they are announced not only will they have a strong lineup despite a couple of the headliners, but for those that arent into festivals as much (and i am thinking of 14-18 year olds especially young girls here) they will look at riri and mumfords and buy a ticket no matter who else is playing.

We'll just have to see but this could be marketing genius at its finest

Ehhh yea that is nothing to do with the fest that is licensing laws and I think you will find TITP has music (usually in the form of DJs playing until 2am) as does Reading/Leeds, Download and I assume V, so I think most large festivals have these curfews, I cant say about Glasto but I doubt there is 24 hours of music although I may be wrong

At least she can actually sing. Nae my cup of tea for the most part but credit where it's due, she's actually got some talent. if Rhianna looked like her we'd never have heard of her. Ken?

I know where you're coming from, but in this particular instance I'm not sure you're correct.

She was plucked from relative obscurity by Jay-Z when a scrawny 16 year old, and that by itself was what got her noticed in the first place. Her taking off her clothes has certainly helped along since tho.

Just out of curiosity, the people who say they aren't going next year based on the line up so far or those who haven't been for a few years now.

Which one act would make you go wow and have you reaching for your credit cards? (I know it will be based on the overall line up but there must be one stand out act)
