Just out of curiosity, the people who say they aren't going next year based on the line up so far or those who haven't been for a few years now.

Which one act would make you go wow and have you reaching for your credit cards? (I know it will be based on the overall line up but there must be one stand out act)

Led Zeppelin

Fleetwood Mac

David Bowie

blur

Daft Punk

Blondie

Black Keys

No Doubt

Madness

Garbage

Massive Attack

Kraftwerk

All acts that would make the lineup look better too me (some possible but most probably not)

Saying that I've already bought tickets & booked tangerine fields - so think I'm stuck with the lineup regardless.

Saw Rihanna at the SECC last October - although she isn't what I would describe as a festival act she put on a good show - unsure how it would translate to a festival though - being totally honest she's the headliner that I'm most excited about - seen the killers a lot of times and Mumford bore me to tears.

Reading through the past few pages of posts.

I seem to be in the same boat as Red Day and devilman.

And I am only 22. I just don't get the need for all this dross being part of T but alas who am I to say anything, I am not part of the demographic of T anymore.

2008 was my first T and my first headliner was Rage Against the Machine. Changed days indeed notfair.gif

Jack White would make me consider it but even if he does get announced i probably won't go. I'd be gutted that i wouldn't see him but that's about it. If he played a day with like Slash, Frightened Rabbit and Jeff Mangum (I can dream) then i would most likely go to see all of those. Throw The Prodigy in on the NME and i'd watch them for a laugh.

I know there will always be pop and i'm OK with that if there is enough of an alternative on the lineup too.

It's shite so far though. Is it too much to ask to have one act announced that hasn't been on the Radio 1 A-list in the last few months (literally every act on the bill has been).

They need to come to the realisation that Radio 1 is not the only thing people listen to.

Sadly they have broken up (hiatus?) plus the lead singer is scared of just about everything including flying so this is pretty much impossible, not sure if you knew this or not but just reiterating the point as I am a massive fan of them aswell and would give a lot to see them

Seen The Hives last night, fucking brilliant. T needs some bands like that on the bill, what a show.

I don't see what I'm missing though with regards to the point that's always made like "of course they'll book what's popular and try to make the most money bla bla" and then you see a line up like that Open'er festival in Poland that already has Arctic Monkeys, QOTSA, Blur and Kings of Leon.

Bet that sells out.

(Obviously someone will pipe up with "thats Europe and this the UK" but I think in a general sense: a festival is a festival regardless of where it is, a festival audience wants the same thing on the most part)

hmmm... a festival where you can't drink - I don't think the average brit festival goers wants the same as is offered up in Poland.
