Yes I know this and that's the point innit? A band that would instantly get you to part with cash despite the rest of the line up? Any UK fest manages to get them I'm there! I'd even say Europe too if I knew about it. Not a fan of all their stuff but some of it is awesome and listening to it has coincided with some fairly huge moments in my life. I would hate never to be able to see them live. Even if they get back together for some US dates I'll probably go.

Suppose T break (small stage) has a lot of Scottish bands. Varies with other stages but if a Scottish band becomes successful, the View, Biffy etc they get repeated til death. Last Scottish band to headline was probably Travis. Snore Patrol are often portrayed as Scottsih but they're not. They're often claimed to be shite and that part is true.

How many Scottish artists typically play the festival each year? And, are they mostly smaller acts?

I've no idea on the numbers.

But the size is dependent on whether there's big Scottish bands at any particular moment. God himself couldn't book a massive act if there weren't any massive acts, so what T does will always have to be within the reality of the Scottish bands available to book.

Thanks for the information guys. So, would a band like French Wives play the T Break stage then? In contrast would a band like Frightened Rabbit headline one of the non-main stages?

Apologies for the rookie questions, 2013 will be my first T in the Park (hell, it'll be my first time to the UK in general).

My friend used to be the violinist in the french wives and i am pretty sure they headlined it in 2010 on the friday. I'm not sure about FR, maybe NME somewhere like afternoon/early evening could be way off though.

The name French Wives rings a bell, but I can't say I'm familiar with them. Most of the T Break acts are unsigned Scottish bands that apply to the T Break competition and get selected by a panel of industry experts (my band have never got on, sad times), others can be Scottish or from elsewhere, and are asked to play.

Frightened Rabbit would be mid tuts or NME.

Frightened Rabbit like other have said will likely be Low NME or medium King Tuts, that's where they played the last time in 2010. Or they could do what Admiral Fallow did this year which they are both around the same size i would say maybe Frightened Rabbit are a bit popular, and headline the BBC Introducing Stage.
