thewayiam
If SOAD where to play they'd headline NME, and I fear they would get a Nine Inch Nails sized crowd, despite putting on a hell of a show. Lineup usually out come the end of February for main ticket batch.
devilman
NIN are not in the same league as SOAD. SOAD are pretty much only back in it for pay days and 2nd at T is not going to pay anything near what they could easily command at just about any other fest in Europe/World. Shootenanny!
SOAD headlining NME on Saturday night would be absolutely perfect. But sadly absolutely no chance.

devilman
EVERYBODY knows Chop Suey and Toxicity. Most of the great unwashed wouldn't know a NIN song if it sidled up and tickled them on the bollox. Even their most famous song was made famous by Johnny Cash. They're more a cult following band IMNSHO. I can't believe that I took a friend to see that caterwauler Florence instead of NIN when they played T. Biggest festival regret ever (musically). SOAD at Download were out of this world.

Gparsfan
Bowie is old man's music and has no relevance at T. Don't get your hopes up folks it's just not T's demographic.
Gparsfan
Also I was thoroughly in the don't care camp for when I heard about The Killers, but.... Really are tremendous it has to be said, I remember as a relative youngster loving them when they came out, and I'd kinda forgotten about that, but they genuinely are good songs and they take me back to a time in my life which seems so different, I'm going to enjoy The Killers. Shootenanny!
I've seen The Killers three times and never thought they were anything less than brilliant. Battle Born is a real return to form so if they play lots from that I'll be happy. Also, Brandon Flowers is now a better singer than he was before, he took singing lessons to improve his voice for Battle Born and having watched him sing live since then they seem to have had a big impact. devilman
You've really taken it to heart that you're not "young and hip" haven't you? Grow old gracefully man, no one likes a whiner. If it was possible to book Bowie then Eaves would, simple as that. Ehm no, everybody doesn't know Chop Suey and Toxicity? Why would they? I just had a look at both and it turns out I do, also reminded me that the fashion sense of most from that genre is dreadful, the facil hair is something else. devilman
I saw the Killers first headline T. It was a revelation, I thought they were really good. I bought the album and everything. What annoys me is that everything since is like they're trying too hard to reproduce the same sound and it's all based on the high notes that Flowers can sing. I can't listen to them anymore but can't argue with the fact that they put on a good live show.

theampersanddevil
What annoys me is that since 2007 (my first T) The Killers have headlined 3 fuckin times, fed up with the same shit, I'm off to Benicassim! Oh wait! They're headling that festival too. Ahh fuck!!!
