And last but not least, the mighty Venetian Snares. He releases about 2 albums every year, so make plenty of space on your shelf / hard disk

Has dubFX had any new material out? He rocked at glastonbury last year (I caught the glade performance but he did a few sets elsewhere over the weekend) and it was still largely the 2009 material mixed and ripped up in a dubstep fashion. Would really like to hear some new material.

I'm an old git, but still have an ear for the avante garde at times, will check out some of the artists listed above myself, thanks for the recommendations.

If you're going down Warpaint route, i'd definitely recommend Alt J and Savages. I expect you might be into Jesus And The Mary Chain anyway, but give them a go. Burial definitely, perhaps the most important electronic musician of the last 15 years.

And Grimes, definitely Grimes.

The new Animal Collective album is out. You can listen to the full album here.

Only listened to it once so far. It's not as instantly catchy as their last effort (Merriweather Post Pavilion). May have to give it a few more listens.

Edit: It's on Spotify too now (it wasn't there yesterday)

good choices. I'd include Penis Envy and Yes Sir, I Will by Crass and I prefer Foetus' Nail.

And I'd add:

Einsturzende Neubauten (Zeichnungen des Patienten O. T., Halber Mensch)

Nurse With Wound (Thunder Perfect Mind, Rock 'n' Roll Station, Who Can I Turn to Stereo)

Flux of Pink Indians (The Fucking c**ts Treat Us Like Pricks)

Boredoms (Chocolate Synthesizer)

Throbbing Gristle (20 Jazz Funk Greats)

Tortoise (Millions Now Living Will Never Die)

Slint (Spiderland)
