...And looking forward to it. Coming with my two kids, 16 and 18. Expecting something a little different from the IOW fest, which was a muddy mess saved only by the quality of the headliners. Looking forward to Grandaddy, who i never thought i would see again, John Grant, Midlake, Beach House, Alt J, Anna Calvi and some new bands.

One question. My sons are driving up on thursday and camping overnight, and we were planning on my eldest leaving the car park on friday lunchtime and coming to Christchurch to pick me up and return to the site for the rest of the weekend. Any flaws in this plan based on previous years? Is it reasonable to be able to exit and re-enter the car park area? Thanks for any help.

Very very different to IOW and a helluva lot better (IMHO).

Should be fine to get away from site and back without too much trouble i would have thought. After Thursday morning last year the queues were very small to get in, and the capacity is low enough that the festival is generally very hassle free.

Enjoy!

I make a ritual of leaving the site on a Saturday morning, to have a bacon and sausage bap and a "luxury poo" at Waitrose in Gillingham. There's never any problem getting off the site and parking again later, though you may be further away than your starting point.

I'm getting worried about the weather though. We've always been pretty fortunate in the past, but Accuweather has consistently been predicting rain for about a week now:

I have a poncho and brilliant wellies so I don't care if it rains; it does seem par for the course this year.

Though it would be nice to have a sunny weekend somewhere!

Was going to book a weather dependent activity for the coming weekend but looks like it won't be worth the trouble again!
