Yes technically you're right, however i don't think it coutns the same

i know rockness is a good festival and all but i think its slightly down a peg in terms of size.

i Can't find the figures but take for a fact

ticket price is less

Less stages

and i mean look at some of the headliners: Palo nutini, deadmou5e, the chemical brothers, leftield I mean all great bands, but you woudln't see them headlining V, Glasto, T or reading or reading (downloand isn't included obviouly)

Also some of the 'support headliners, take last year: Noah and the whale, Annie Mac, friendly fires.

now compare to reading 2012... Paramore, Florence and the machine, The Black Keys

i don't wanna insult the festival, its meant to be awesome and has a nice little line up, just i don't think its in the same league, just as latitude isn't ethir...

Be warned of saying a band headlining a smaller festival is a headliner, as if this is the case Olly murs is technically a headliner (Gill fest last year :/)

Thanks for the warning but I didn't say that headliners of any smaller festival count as headliners. I was talking about Rockness.

Rockness certainly isn't the same as Guilfest, and while it's a smaller festival than the major ones it's headliners are still of that size on occasion.

The Strokes headlined Rockness the same year as they headlined IOW and a year before R&L, Kasabian headlined when they'd already headlined V and T and a year before R&L and Biffy headlined Rockness last year, so I think it's OK to assume that a Rockness headliner can be of a 'major festival headline size'.

Sorry just realized the warning sounded a bit arrogant, was ment to be more of a joke lol infact the whole post seems a little belittling now i re read it. (sorry)

it is interesting the fact they have managed to do this, i would assume they've bi-passed the england exclusivity thing and put a big chunk of their budget into headliners?
