eFestivals
This idea seems to be based entirely on the fairly late announcement the time he played Hop Farm. I'm not convinced it's true of all his festival appearances.I've heard it as industry gossip, and while I can't be sure that everything I heard was true, everything about it and around it appears to confirm it as true.I can't be sure, but there appears to be some shady characters around Prince, so it's possible that longer-the-6-weeks confirmed dates that have appeared over the years have been made via someone else, who then has to talk Prince into it with 6 weeks to go. Frankly Mr Shankly
Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds still look like the most logical choice to me, they're free between August & Oct, have a new album out, are playing Euro festivals all summer & have a tour to sell which would explain why they weren't announced previously... PDAD
The New Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds Album is terrific...an appearance would persuade me to get a ticket i think..

hoils
I would have thought the final headliner will be one of the following: Pulp Pixies Jason Statham Arcade Fire Nick Cave I can't remember RDB ever playing, or showing any interest, in Nick Cave and I'm not sure the Pixies or Arcade Fire are doing the rounds this year. My money's on Jason Statham, purely as they've played before (but not headlined), the other 2 headliners aren't dance acts and it's a (sorta) sop to the yoot, compared to Elton and Snoop. Frankly Mr Shankly
I don't know how often he tours but Damian Marley killed it at the Grammy's... he'd be amazing to chill to on a sunny afternoon by the main stage. Frankly Mr Shankly
It all seems a big quite on here, anyway here's a few (realistic) names I'd like to see in the next announcement... Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds (Last Headliner), My Bloody Valentine, Editors, James, Frank Ocean, Kendrick Lamar, ASAP Rocky, When Saints Go Machine, Kelis, Nas, Tyler the Creator, Tame Impala, Bloody Beetroots, Postal Service. jadel74
Regine from Arcade Fire is VERY pregnant, as is Marika. Not sure what this does to their chances. http://www.nme.com/news/arcade-fire/68884

Chinaski_
What about NIN potentially? Or are they not Bestival's thing? http://stereogum.com/1269592/nine-inch-nails-to-tour-this-year/news/

Frankly Mr Shankly
If NIN were announced I think I'd do a back flip. Might be to much of a curve ball though & Trent said they're doing the US in the "fall". rexclark
Well I would say this sadly makes Arcade Fire look very doubtful for this year which is a shame. Really can't think who the third headliner could be.
Frankly Mr Shankly
My Bloody Valentine are playing a festival in Berlin on the 7th, not sure if that makes them more or less likely?
kaosmark2
Don't think it really affects them at all. Where would they play though? Anyone else seen the Daft Punk album teaser? Dare we hope?
Frankly Mr Shankly
RDB always strikes me as an honest promoter & he's said no Daft Punk this year... As for MBV I'm not sure, they're perfect size for a sub slot but would it work in the light? I guess they could headline the Big Top... They could be Thursdays Big Top Headliner in fact. mattrik3
"Unfortunately, there is much less information when it comes to Daft Punk's touring plans. Six years since the group last played the UK, there are still no gigs on their calendar. The only good news has come in the form of a partial retraction: a couple of weeks after declaring that Daft Punk were "definitely not touring" in 2013, Bestival boss Rob da Bank tried to roll those comments back. "I was under the influence of Xmas shopping when [i said that] so ... I'd take it with a large pinch of salt," he said. "I don't even think Daft Punk know whether they're touring [this] year!"
