eFestivals
PMSL .... here are Daft punk's touring plans, and I guarantee their accuracy at this time.None. None at all. Nothing. Zilch. You can choose to not believe me, but I knew that Daft Punk's new album would be released in May and I knew they'd just signed to Sony before either was announced. And I also know that they've no plans to think about touring until after the new album is released, because they want to see how it's received first - because it's radically different for Daft Punk, with no use of computers. So the very earliest they might - just might - start to schedule tour dates will be May, and those dates won't happen until Oct/Nov at earliest, because they'll have to put a band together, have the band learn the songs, and then rehearse for that tour. They won't play any fests this summer.Howe many times do I have to repeat this before someone listens? I'd said they weren't touring this summer from long before RdB said anything too, and everyone ignored that as well. Frankly Mr Shankly
Well Blur can officially be ruled out, they're in Berlin on the 6th.

eFestivals
Just out of curiosity why did you choose to dismiss the daft punk rumors of a new album earlier this year?I didn't quite do that. I dismissed them touring a new album in time for the summer.Last year I dismissed rumours of a new album, cos that was the word from the DP camp at that time.I only got to hear anything of a new album (and other stuff) after they'd signed their new deal. This recent stuff has come at me from a number of different and unconnected sources, where I know who each of those ultimate sources are (my info is not 1st-hand, but that's often the case), and where the info has been identical in each case - and where much of what I've heard has since been officially and solidly confirmed in some manner. So while often I have to be careful of what I hear because it might not actually be true, when info comes at me like this and with stuff that later backs much of it up, I have a much stronger belief in it than I do for other stuff. rexclark
Well they played all the instruments on Discovery including guitars, bass and keyboards so its not like they're learning from scratch. All depends in what instruments they're using on the new album. I'd imagine it'll take a good few months to learn all the old and new songs live so they'll probably be ready after summer towards the end of the year. Personally I cannot wait for this album. GuitarManDan15
http://www.efestivals.co.uk/news/13/130308f.shtml Aren't the flaming lips a bestival UK festival exclusives? More bullshit from a promoter, flaming lips double crossing, or is 'brighton festival' not considered a festival? ...http://www.efestivals.co.uk/news/13/130130i.shtml yeah says UK fesitval exclusive
Matt - Ed Banger Records
I would argue that Brighton Festival isn't a Festival in the truest sense of the words - it appears to be a multi date, multi venue arts project so would definitely fall outside of encroaching on any festival exclusivity. GuitarManDan15
Didn't realise it was a 'camden crawl' kinda thing. Pretty cheap at £30 actually

Justiceforcedave
The "Brighton Festival" show is just a gig essentially....one which I'll be going to.

smogo
The multi-venue thing with a £30 wristband is The Great Escape. The Brighton Festival is an arts programme, so yes The Flaming Lips' show is just a gig with its own ticket, and not part of The Great Escape. Mouseboy11
I was looking at tickets and it appears that they have a lot of strict rules on under 18s going. Are these rules really that heavily enforced does anyone know? It says if you're under 18 you need to go with someone over 30 which seems ridiculous.
