I actually prefer FC3 to FC4. There are some nice additions in 4, but the story was much better in 3 (never thought I would hear myself say that!) and the general gameplay was more satisfying. I find the hunting is too easy in 4, and the eagles and honeybadgers are just a pain in the arse on 4. I still play (and enjoy) it, but overall I enjoyed 3 more.

I'm going to sign up for a month of EA:Access today, simply so I can play the Battlefield:Hardline 10 hour sneak peek.

Far Cry 3 is a must have. I was underwhelmed by South park (although it ties in well with the humour of the series that preceded it).

South Park does look like fairly standard fare and I would only be purchasing it for the story/humour as I am such a sad fanboy.

The recent episode dealing with Stan's video game addiction was just so spot on.

i agree about Farcry 3. Loved 4 too, the addition of Elephant riding made it very fun indeed.

Unfortunately I don't have the spec to run FC4.

But apparently I will just about be able to run GTAV. I will be making an exception to my "no full price games" rule for that one.

Thing is, I already have more games than I could probably play through in a lifetime, let alone having other hobbies and a job.

I've been on PS+ for a year with my Vita and have a ton of games for PS3 & 4 and don't own either.

You've just pointed out exactly why i don't play games on PC there.

by the way i think i enjoyed Farcry 3 more, the camps were better for liberating but 4 isn't far off from being as good.

Just played a raid on Destiny. Good fun, definitely the best part to the game as it mixes the gameplay up. Teninch toenails i was gonna ask you to join my fireteam but you were already in one.

I saw you raiding! I think I was doing nightfall at the time.

The venus raid is 200x better than the moon raid.

Finished Majora's Mask last night. Managed to get all the masks too! I have to say it is one of my favourite Zelda games.

Starting Ocarina of Time now.

I'm really getting into Majora's Mask now, after taking ages to get on board with it. Now I've got to grips with all its quirks, I can enjoy it rather than admire it. It's certainly one of the most ambitious and inventive games I've played in terms of gameplay and mechanics, it's absolutely bursting at the seams with stuff as well, Ocarina feels a bit sparse to me now (still love Ocarina though). The touchscreen is a godsend, the amount of switching masks and items and referring to the notebook is pretty huge, I can't imagine doing this on the N64, I'd probably ragequit.

Its great if you like the TV series, but it is anything that new /different with gaming. But as an interactive episode? Yeah its pretty damn good! :P

Depends how long you see an upgrade lasting really :P I have had my current set up for 4 years and my 560Ti is only just getting to the point where it needs to be upgraded tbh!

(For Project CARs likely ..as its been delayed AGAIN!)

Yup. I've had my current PC for 4 years, spent £300 more on making it top-tier-game-worthy over what I needed excluding that, and the only thing that's even close to needing an upgrade is the graphics card, and that's probably 2 years away.

And I don't have to keep it online to play games.

Others I've spoken to have also been impressed with hardline. I found the beta really disappointing, but maybe that was down to poor, early maps.

As for gaming PCs. Like LondonTom I've been running with a 560Ti for ages and it handles everything well enough. It died last month and I paid £30 for a regular 560 which does almost as good a job. I'm still using an old socket 775 quad core with DDR2 ram, have no problems at all. I work with someone who is getting rid of his Dual Titans so he can spend £1600 on a Titan X, claiming it is "futureproof". Even though he can't have bought the titans more than 18 months ago. Midrange hardware with a half decent video card has done me well for years, I spend much less on upgrades than mates do and seem to have far fewer problems as well.

I couldnt be arsed typing last night, but regarding BF:HL the campaign is as dull as shit (unsurprisingly) - which is a shame, because I was holding out big hopes for something different. But the MP was brilliant - I havent played it loads, but the mode I played "Blood Money" was great fun, and the gunplay was great. Firefights felt fair, the TTK is a bit shorter than on BF4 I feel, but I was obviously playing on totally unfamiliar maps, with totally unfamiliar weapons with no attachments, and doing kind of OK, I have a KD ratio of 1, but very rarely felt robbed.

I hope to put a couple more hours in this afty, and to play the mode "Hotwire" which looks like a right laugh.

Hotwire was my favorite mode of the Beta, so so satisfying blowing up the oil tanker when it's being raced around.

Anyway, been playing alot of GTAV again recently, and did my first online heist along with setup missions, it was absolutely brilliant. Joined a friends game though so ended up doing the (technically) 3rd heist 1st. There's a lot of content here they're handing out for free, all in all that one set of missions and heist took us about 2 hours and it was great fun. There's never anyone just sitting about, you all always have something to do, the helicopter section in this heist in particular was fantastic. And the setup mission involving fighter jets with "Danger Zone" playing as you steal them was epic.

Don't tend to have much to do with IGN since their two best writers/presenters/journalists/whatever you want to call them left. Greg Miller and Colin Moriarty (alongside Tim Gettys and Nick Scarpino) went over to doing Kinda Funny and Kinda Funny Games full time and it's ace. Check out their YouTube channels if you have time, they also do a live twitch stream everyday called Colin and Greg live for daily news about everything in the entertainment world really.

Has anyone played Hotline Miami 2 yet? Seems to be getting very mixed reviews, which is disappointing. I might hold off until its in a sale. I bought the first one for £2.16, which is was an utter bargain.

I haven't picked it up yet, haven't seen any reviews either but I saw them say its the last one. Which is a real shame.
