Spindles
gotta love marketing people. or not. gonna have to say I'm firmly in the 'or not' camp. My views on the subject are akin to your old avatar's. Blood dragon is brilliant, I hope plenty of people go on to buy the full game who otherwise might not have. t8yman
Blood Dragon is great. Was a little bored with the very early stages of the game, but once the map opens and the garrisons come into play, its a lot better.
luckysalt
EA have announced they will no longer be releasing anymore games for the Wii U, not even FIFA, said the market is too small. Thats it then. Thats the nail in the coffin for me, Sega was killed off by EA refusing to support their system in the Dreamcast.

Thats the nail in the coffin for me, Sega was killed off by EA refusing to support their system in the Dreamcast. nintendo, and their "fanboys" have been ignoring exactly whats staring them in the face for so long aside from massively long development times for games that shouldnt take more than a couple of years to dev. If the wiiu had launched with a ssbb, and a number of other AAA ninty big names, it would have sold by the shedload. this mythical "casual gamer" doesnt exist. there are - however - millions of gullible twats that will buy a console on the back of a really clever marketing campaign (see the wii launch) even though they have never previously, nor since they bought a wii actually played "video" games. the wii was a massive dust collector for 95% of the people who bought them, and the wii-u was an attempt to cash in to that market who are now a little bit wiser then when they bought "that thing you can play bowling on". t8yman
Big nextbox reveal tonight at 6pm GMT interesting to see what they come up with, and how much they reveal. its a fairly big event by the look of it - so i reckon they will be giving it all the bells and whistles. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-05-17-the-next-xbox-everything-we-know-so-far
G-Stud
I'm quite looking forward to the reveal tonight, I love my 360 but I think Microsoft are going to have to really wow to get people away from the PS4.
LondonTom
...yup it's the new Dreamcast all over (have Arsenal got a gold kit they can stick Wii U on?) I loved my Dreamcast! The Wii U's problem is that the Wii's "casual gamers" have all moved on to playing Angry Birds and Candy Crush and what ever the latest fad is on their phones/tablets. At the end of the day, it needs to appeal to gamers, a few top of the range games and a fair of those will go because they happen to be nostalgic. Can't wait for the Xbox Reveal...I am going expect something to blow the initial PS4 announcement out the water!...Then hopefully Sony comes out with something else to better it. Nothing better than these two trying to compete with each other. Edited May 21, 2013 by LondonTom

G-Stud
I thought the Xbox One looked pretty cool but I kind of just want a games console, not an "entertainment centre". I also worry that I might be in the same boat as Lithium...

luckysalt
So Xbox One, not impressed. Awful name, seems to just be my laptop in a console shell in terms of what it is offering ie Skype, IE on the dashboard, I don't care. Its a games console first and foremost and all I saw was 3rd party games that will be available on PS4 and Forza 5. Nothing there AT ALL to make me switch from PS, so i'll be sticking with my PS3/Vita/Plus combination and upgrading to PS4 when the time is right. The absolute negatives, the insistence to force you to use Kinect, always has to on, and the confirmation you can't play preowned games unless you unlock them by paying a fee. Im guessing Microsoft have put this in place to subside the fee they have to pay to Sony for Blu Ray usage.
