The Nal

I'm getting a ps4, really wanted to like the xbox as that's what i use most on the current gen and as t8yman says the xbox interface and online just seems better, but all that backtracking from microsoft make sme wonder what they will do in the future, plus why on earth are they forcing you to buy a kinnect? I don't want it yet i have to pay for one if i want the console....sorry but microsoft have lost me

And now we have the news that COD:Ghosts is native 1080p on PS4, and 720p on the xbone. I think my mind is made up. Charging £100 over the odds for a console that cant even run the biggest game of the year at full HD is weak sauce.

I actually hovered over the cancel button on my PS4 order this morning, glad I didnt click it.

I see Sony have announced a reward system for US, anything bought on the store, or points or plus etc you get back in points. 1 point per $1, also things bought at certain retailers count and things will be on promotion like double points.

Basically like something like Tesco clubcard points.

Hope this comes to UK

Nintendo do something similar but I find it useless as everything bought has to a full retail priced so you're better off justing ordering it somewhere else anyway.

battlefield is far superior to COD, but i find it needs a lot more commitment than cod just to simply feel good about being in the game. I had some amazing times, especially on the vietnam expansion pack a few years ago, the maps, the squads, the gametypes are incredibly engaging. its a lot more about "the greater good of the team" than cod, which is basically just a k/d penis waggling contest imho.

bf is well worth the time.

That's the problem i always had with battlefield, never really had enough time to commit to it and got left behind very quickly, as good as it looked i was just getting destroyed,I'll have even less time now with the new addition so I'll have to give it a miss, cod for me on the ps4

Finally finished Uncharted Golden Abyss on the Vita last night. Great game, but maybe a few too many cut scenes for my liking. I especially loved the way you can aim using the motion sensor. It works brilliantly. I've started playing Gravity Rush now which looks like it could be very good indeed.

I'm quite looking forward to Tearaway. I think this is going on my Christmas list...

Preordered the ps4 killzone bundle last night from zavvi for day 1 release. 375 quid!

I'd also ordered COD : Ghosts from GameStop for £45 which was shipped today, that will be nice to look at for a few weeks till I can play it!

ALOT of bad reviews for Battlefield. Might hold off buying it for a while till they patch the bugs .http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/B00C0W6N5W/ref=cm_cr_dp_synop?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=0&sortBy=bySubmissionDateDescending#R2D8Z7YOZSCA0P

Probably just half assed the 360/PC/PS3 versions and concentrating on the XBONE/PS4.

The single player campaign does not save progress so you have restart from the beginning every time

How the fuck did that get through Q&A?!

Decided to order COD last night on Amazon. Got a dispatch email at 9 in the morning today saying it was dispatched so was expecting it to arrive tomorrow but it came in the post today. :D

Anyway just got started online, so far it's alrite. I'm not a fan of the whole character thing, it means that each character has their own perks that you can not change. Also each character starts at rank zero which is a pain in the ass. Why don't they just have 1 overall rank and use it for all your characters?

So my monitor's just died and I'm looking to replace it with a new one. Apart from standard electronics stores and amazon, can anyone recommend a place to get a decent widescreen gaming + video monitor for under £100? This is the cheapest on overclockers, which has fractionally better specs than £90 ones on Currys and amazon, but they charge for delivery so I'm leaning towards the Currys one right now.

Ideally I'd want to be able to order to collect from somewhere in Bristol rather than have delivery, but I realise that might be stretching optimism.

Anyone got any thoughts or recommendations?

@kaosmark2, I normally use ebuyer. I believe that novatech (also a good components supplier) are in your area.

I've had best experience with acer and samsung panels.

*edit* I was miles off, novatech are nowhere near brizzle. However ebuyer tend to do free delivery on many items.

I'm currently not shopping at ebuyer after they've fucked up delivery of a router I ordered 5 weeks ago which still hasn't arrived. I've been complaining and complaining and they're saying it's parcelforce's responsibility and parcelforce are saying it got returned to ebuyer. I'm currently fighting to get a refund.

Novatech looks good on first skim though. I'll check it out in more depth.

The one that's just gone is an acer, although it has served me well for 5 years. My TV which I've currently got my comp hooked up to is Samsung and I find it excellent for TV and films but poor in connection to a PC, although that's probably due to the type of picture it's designed for. I might well stick with acer depending on what I find.
