NEXT GEN CONSOLES

AFAIK Visceral are only doing the SP. That was based on the discussions on the IGN podcast on friday?

Dice are generally great at developing MP, I firmly believe they were rushed by EA on BF4.

EA need to wake up and try and avoid their obssession with being a "COD Killer", COD players rarely play BF, and vice versa, they arent even targetting the same audience IMHO.

edited to add, visceral are lead designer, with DICE collaboration.

Ahhh ok, news to me I didn't know DICE had anything to do with it, thought it was alllll visceral! I did think it was rather brave of them!!

I don't think they are trying to be a COD killer at all, I think COD is doing that itself. Pumping out a "new" game every year and the unbelievable amount of twats that play it. Battlefield has never tried to be anything but Battlefield, it sells so much EA doesn't need it to kill COD, because quite frankly, it doesn't matter to them as Battlefield makes so much money as it is. It's just such a shame BF4 has turned out the way it has, I traded mine in because I was fed up with it breaking every few weeks (and as a Premium member, feel quite robbed!), when it worked it was great, but it's always been FAR from perfect.

Edit: it's also such a shame that COD now has this agenda about it, which to be fair is quite rightly earned for more than the reasons mentioned above, because the older games were so damn good!

Bought Watchdogs on friday and played a few hours over the weekend. Its ok, not as good as it should/could have been though. I don't see the comparison with GTA at all, other than its an open world game?

It just felt like that to me, I guess yeah maybe its just being in a city and open world. I've actually done much of the main story yet, just started doing doing the side missions....the first car mission I had was great, whizzing around the city, unlocking garage doors for shortcuts etc. Just felt exciting to me but I am easily pleased :P

and yeah I've never been one for stealth in games, but hacking into the camaras, creating a little diversion and watching guards run over to it is awesome fun to.

Didn't realise there was an online mode! I shall be checking that out!

I'd guess that EA's plan with BF is the same as they have with NFS, alternating each year between different studios and giving each twice as long to develop their title and doubling the release rate of the franchise.

For me BF4, for all it's faults, has been the best online multiplayer title around this year. The DLC has brought some good additions and I feel that it's provided reasonable value.

As for watchdogs, I'd very much agree that it only really looks good at night in the rain. If PC owners are considering a video card upgrade watchdogs is currently being bundled with GTX760 cards with some vendors.

I wouldn't say that, as both EA and DICE has previously stated that they don't want Battlefield to be an annual franchise. Hardline isn't Battlefield 5/Bad Company 3 after all, I'd guess its more of a spin-off than anything. Wasn't it said that it'll only be a few maps with a few game modes a la BF 1943?

Dragon's Crown and Lone Survivor for Vita on PS Splus this month... very nice. Still haven't got round to playing Murmasa Rebirth from last month though as I am still firmly glued to Persona 4.

If you haven't picked up Dark Souls for free on xbox yet then you should check it out. I bought it for about £2 in a sale a few months ago. I should go back to it. I got to Anor Londo and then haven't played it for ages. I was really enjoying though.

EA's origin service have started doing the same with the give away thing, Battlefield 3 was free the other day (not sure when this expires) and a few other, not so spectacular titles have been also.

I like the way that the major players are now handling subscription based gaming services, rather than being the pure shopfront of steam (with it's bargains) the idea that your subscription also gets you access to free games really adds value. Credit to Sony for the initiative there.

Oooo I haven't noticed this! Will be keep an eye on it (though I do have BF3...can't play it thought, makes me sick as a dog after 10 minutes! I think all modern FPS games are off the cards for me now though..sadly. The last FPS i got through without feeling ill was Portal 1.)

One day we will have a spotify type thing of games, and you can just pick and choose what you feel like playing for a few weeks. That would be ace!

Played the UFC demo yesterday for a bit, the controls are really complex, and will take a lot of getting used to, but the presentation, graphics and gameplay are great, I'm deffo grabbing it for the xbone when it comes out. The main thing that jarred me (bizarrely) was Greg Jackson whooping and a hollerin, hanging over the cage at the announcements, GJ would never do that IIRC, he's very chilled and reserved.

Getting a bit more into conquest on BF4, I used to play it quite a lot back in the days of BF2, but I'm starting to enjoy it a bit, a nice break from Rush, especially since the only servers really playing rush are on the base game map pack, so very few china rising, 2nd assault or naval strike games on rush.

Watchdogs is ok, I can see why they delayed the reviews (and I'm a bit sceptical of a few (IGN to name one)). Certainly didn't deserve any hype.

So there's still no cast iron killer title IMO. I'd hoped to be balls deep in elder scrolls online by now, but that's been delayed...:(

Isn't Elder Scolls Online supposed to be a bit shit as well?

Keep trying.2 and a half years since I bought it on release and still playing the motherfudger... autocorrect gave me motherfudger, and I ran with it...

Tried last summer and got a fair few missions done but then a dragon kept killing me on the ice mountain so I gave up. Might give it another go soon.

E3 is this week and is it me or is this the quietest its ever been leading up to one?

Hardly been mentioned.

Is that sarcasm salty? Gaming websites/blogs/youtube have been flooded with leaks, there appears to be hardly any surprises left to announce!

Very late on this (I'm a pretty casual gamer), but I've just gotten round to playing the original Bioshock and it's not doing a lot for me. Is it worth persevering with? To me it seems quite dated.

I really enjoyed it, dunno if it has aged (really) badly, but I loved it, one of the few games I have ever played right through to the end.

Ah no, I haven't been on IGN or whatever I just meant on social media or in the general press.

Haven't really heard anything at all, so it will be a surprise to me.
