WS_Jack_III
I also got Destiny. I wasn't much interested at first, never could get into Halo and i've played so many FPS in the last 10 years but my friend was raving on about it and i decided to pick it up. So i've played about 4 hours of it, i like it for the most part. The shooting is tight and enemies are smart, the levelling up is well paced too. It looks gorgeous on my PS4 and the maps are indeed huge. I think the tower area isn't explained very well though, i'm still a little unsure about most of the stuff in that area. I think it's supposed to have some sort of story but i don't really understand what that might be and i think it would really benefit from having some variation in the missions. It seems all i've done so far is shoot hordes of enemies, get to checkpoint, defend the area while Peter Dinklage extracts data from a fallen vessel or a computer, all pretty standard FPS stuff. Maybe different mission types are unlocked as i level up? As i said though, i've enjoyed it so far.

luckysalt
Played Destiny loads today, nearly level 6 and my defence is 98 but just got to the point where the Crucible is opened up. Had one go, fucking awful. Me a level 5, my teammates a level 7 and a level 12 against 3 who were 20, 23 and 19. ERM Yeah thats fair. Got absolutely slaughtered. Wasn't fun at all. They need to fix that or I just won't play it.

Main game wise, I played a mission where vehicles with weapons were available, nice change of mission style. I added loads of people from this thread back in 2009 or something so i can't remember if you're one of them. Andeeroo
I thought there was no level advantage in the Crucible? I'm generally shit at multiplayer FPS, but I've been competing with people that are Level 20+ and I'm only Level 7 or 8. jump
I've been playing the Super Smash Bros demo, I'm shocked the game works so well on a portable small screen.

WS_Jack_III
So has Destiny split opinion in the gaming community? I've seen scores as low as 6 and as high as 9. I don't think I've played enough to rate it yet but it's a pretty slick game. Oh and apparently everybody is evened out in crucible.
luckysalt
Weird with the Crucible thing, cus I was getting one shot killed all the time. Im not a regular FPS player though, and people on higher levels will have had longer with the game, im pretty much a novice.
t8yman
I'm level 13 Titan with 270 Defense. Loving it at the moment. I understand the first "Raid" took a team of 6 people (minimum level 26) 10 hours to complete. Jesus. Playing on the xboxone, it looks lovely as I said before. Yesterday I went round to my dads house, he was installing it to his xbox 360. It looked like dogshit in comparison to the xboxone, but it was interesting helping him through the first couple of low level bosses on Earth, I wanted to level him up to 4 before I left him, so I could show him how bounties etc worked. Be interesting to see him this morning to see if he persevered, he is used to playing COD where you can "snap to" aim. His aiming was shocking initially! WS_Jack_III
10 hours! 6 to a fireteam now and this game certainly is more enjoyable playing with buddies. I'm enjoying it more and more. Edited September 17, 2014 by III
the_hedge
I am also loving Destiny at the moment. First game in ages where I look forward to getting home and jumping on with some mates and start shooting "things" It's also the first game in a while where the multiplayer is a distant second. WS_Jack_III
Had great fun in the Crucible tonight, i got to nearly all the heavy ammo that was dropped and it changed my games from me being slaughtered to being a walking tank. I started flying up the leader boards with my heavy machine gun fully loaded. I'm level 12 now.
Uncle Liam
I completed Far Cry Classic yesterday. What an incredibly infuriating experience. A game that sums up why I fell out of love with video games in the latter period of the PS2/Original Xbox era. Horrendous controls at times, lots of "WHAT/WHERE THE FUCK DO I DO/GO NOW?" moments, stupid spikes and lulls in difficulty. Classic? Meh. GodlikeYeezus
Xbox One or PS4? Don't wanna start a chaotic debate but what would you suggest at this point. I always think Microsoft do more as time goes on the renew their products life cycle but I'd like advise as I'm getting a next grin console in the upcoming weeks. TenInchToenaiIs
Depends what exclusives you like the look of more tbh. Theyre pretty similar
GodlikeYeezus
Don't really have any preferred choice on exclusives unless they bring another Gears of War out. Metal Gear Solid is now going to be on both consoles so yeah i'm still kinda stuck.

t8yman
The only correct answer. true dat. I own an xboxone, if you arent bothered about Halo - get a PS4. It really is a tough one though, xbox seem to be updating the dash and its functionality at an alarming pace, with mkv support, and many other helpful bits coming out all the time. I will be very surprised if they dont bring out a new Gears Of War though, or at least a "collection" as they are doing with Halo - all GoW games, remastered and prettied up for the new gen. I think "whatever your mates have got" is the best way to choose tbh.

LondonTom
I want a White Xbox One but I want Kinect and FIFA 15 rather than Sunset Overdrive This might drive me to wait a year and get FIFA 15 on PC for the proper updates in that. (the other games I really want are Project CARS and the Master Chief collection...but I can live without ) Plus maybe the S/Slim range of next gen consoles will be out
the_hedge
I've had both the PS4 and xbox one and I prefer the xbox one. Live runs much better than PSN in my opinion. I watch a lot of youtube and competitive gaming so I love the fact that You Tube, Twitch and MLG TV are all on the xbox one. That being said if all your mates are on the PS4 then it might be quite dull!!
