There's still no compelling reason to get either IMHO. I was thinking of getting one or the other when Far Cry 4 came out, but that's coming out for 360 anyway, so I'll just get that and save myself £400.

I disagree, having seen destiny running on the one, then on the 360 - its like stepping back in time. The graphical leap is huge.

With Far cry 4 in particular that's likely to be the case, since it is a developer who always set their sights on delivering a higher level of detail than current gen supports, then offering reduced quality for lower end systems. Every game they have ever released on the PC seems to be aimed at PC's a couple of years down the road at the highest level and struggling on today's mid-range hardware. Their games are beautiful and ground breaking though, so definitely worth seeing in the full glory.

Indeed even something very generic like FIFA looks astounding on the Next Gen/PC compared to 360/PS3!! So while there isn't an exclusive must have for me on either console yet, I really really want to upgrade :P

That said, a new graphics card and my PC would be able to handle most of those I want to play....I just for some strange reason prefer consoles for certain games. :P

Alot of people seem to feel that way, as a long time PC gamer I don't get it, just plug a controller in ;) The only reason I've ever had a console was because I used to make cash on the side modding them, every one has ended up gathering dust within 3 months of purchase. Some of the console exclusives/delays for PC piss me off (GTA V I'm looking at you).

If Far Cry 4 plays and looks as good as Far Cry 3 did on the 360, then there is no reason for me to upgrade. Shiny new graphics is not reason enough for me to upgrade. There have to be enough next gen only games for me to make the switch.

Tried to get the Pes 2015 demo last night but my connection kept dropping in my room and I didn't wanna wake my family by moving my PS4 to hardwire.

Hopefully I'll be able to play at 5 when i get back from work.

Edit: played it, love it. Fox engine is beautiful.

I'm struggling to stay interested in Destiny. Crucible is horribly unbalanced, the skill gap is just too high, anyone starting out is at such a disadvantage its horrible. I'm not a great FPS player on the whole, but I can often manage top 3 on most leaderboards at the end of a match of COD, or BF, or even Halo. But struggling to get a single kill on destiny in a whole match (or even one "lucky" kill) gives no satisfaction at all. I will continue to grind and hope I improve, but its difficult to see me sticking with the game once something more interesting comes out.

I tend to stay away from the crucible and concentrate on Bounty's, Public Events and Strikes etc. Once I get to Vanguard Rank 2 I can start getting all the nice purple gear.

The Crucible feels weird. I don't know if it's lag comp but I get some very strange deaths. I will also die at least 7 times a game from someone using their superpower of which there is no counter what so ever. Maybe it's just playing cod where head shots don't really matter and the quick time to kill means I will be pap at this game!!

But skill advantages are turned off. I quite enjoy it.

How I felt as soon as I played Crucible, rest of the game seems fine but this part is just not fun.

I have FIFA now anyway so Destiny is on the back burner.

So Destiny being the future of gaming didn't last long.

I disagree. This game is not like COD where it's all about the Multiplayer. The game has so much going on with so much more to come. You are looking at a 10 year support plan for this game. There is so much to do in this game already and we have only scratched the surface.

I can't say for sure it's the future of gaming but it's the first game that's got me of COD permanently for 2 years. In fact it may be the game that's killed cod for me and that can only be a good thing.

Unfortunately it will be the future of gaming, hobbled story at launch so they can sell you it later as DLC. I actually hope it falls on its arse and activision get their wings clipped a bit. Forum users of a few different sites are saying that they are getting bored of the grind already. And I can honestly believe that the master chief collection will kill this game dead on the xboxone at least. COD will also strip users away in their droves. The leaked, planned DLC that was reported on EG yesterday is a disgrace.

COD is dying a slow death. Pre-orders for AW are already at a tenth of what Ghosts were and Ghosts sold poorly compared to previous games.

You may be right about Halo, all the guys who are loving Destiny that I play with are all Halo players. Will it kill it dead? I don't think so but who knows what the future will bring.

I'm finished with destiny. Battlefield 4 is still 100x more fun to play. Yesterday the "fall update" for BF4 was released, which is supposed to make it the game it should have been at launch (ironically about a year after it launched) I havent got the patch yet, but the 4 games of rush I played yesterday gave me more grins than a fortnight on destiny has tbh.

Bring on the patch and the final DLC,

I've decided against an Xbox One...this year at least and gone for FIFA 15 on PC :P

Just seemed like a hassle despite all its front room connectivity setting it up to work with my PC monitor and speakers like my 360 is. Plus when I thought about it the only exclusive I want at the moment is really the Master Chief collection. Plus i figure we might get a normal looking 1TB model next year (or in white :D).

FIFA 15 runs fine on max settings but might upgrade my 560Ti when Project CARS comes out if thats not looking all shinny and beautiful. (Also tempted by a new 4K/3D monitor :P). The new GTX 970 cards are meant to be excellent bang for your buck at the moment.

Only played the one match on FIFA but I like it, need to be much more precise with shooting but rest of it feels pretty much the same with shinny new graphics! (The Boleyn Ground looks outstanding, so accurate apart its maybe a bit cleaner than it actually is :P)

Ok so am home from my summer travels working, got Destiny and put it on for the first time last night..

I played the first level, fair enough then ended up at some tower place. Is it just me or does it seem dead complicated about all the things to collect, exchange, barter, bounty hunt etc?

Does it get better?
