I had a little go on Pix The Cat, I wasn't too impressed. It could do with being a tad slower, although I was drunk when I played it...

It starts off excruciatingly slowly, and ends up being excruciatingly fast!

Shadow of Mordor showed up on Saturday. Faulty disc. Apparently there's a dodgy batch going around. Something to do with rough edges that makes it impossible to read the disc.

Sent it back to be exchanged for another copy, but I'm half expecting all their stock to be the dodgy batch, if so I'll just save the credit for WWE 2k15 at the end of the month.

Irritating though.

Started Alien Isolation last night, production values are stunning, the movement and look feels a bit weird compared with straight up fps movement at first, but soon settles down, the "look" movement feels a little spongey.

I played for about an hour, once the initial cutscenes are out of the way, you are straight into it. I havent even encountered the alien, nor heard any mention of it yet. My initial impression is that its a bit slow and ploddy, but thats not really fair as I have only played for an hour or so.

Also bought Forza Horizon 2 over the weekend, but havent even booted that one up yet.

I started Alien Isolation last night too, and again, only played maybe an hour. I'm looking forward to getting into it though, it's so amazingly atmospheric. And the Torrens (the first ship you start on) is the same model as the Nostromo, so it was amazing walking around that.

Finally have a working copy of Shadow of Mordor. As reviewed really, the mechanics are great but the missions and story are distinctly average.

Also decided to get rid of FIFA. It's the worst incarnation for about 6 or 7 years for me. Plenty of flaws which make it too frustrating to play and enjoy. Trading it this week so I'll have £35 credit for when busy season comes!

Finished the first Mass Effect for the second time last night. Playing as a good female this time round (I was a bad ass male first time). Going to start on Mass Effect 2 again now, and I'm interested to see how the story is different this time round. I've also bough the DLC for ME2, which I never played the first time (Kazumi, Lair of the Shadow Broker and Arrival).

O_o I am enjoying it on PC, I've completely ignored FUT and really only done career (its the main I get anyway ) and it seems fine to me? There are alot less randomly wild shots going in, there is slightly less running at pace to get a scoring position (seems to happen more than when I first got it now though :S)....and the new corner tactics/control of the reciever for set pieces is fantastic!

Plus the stadiums and players look fantastic!

If you haven't played the first one, play that first. The story in Mass Effect is absolutely superb, and the decisions you make in the each game affects the following games.

I use them a few times before and had no problems, the only place I've had problems with was Videogamebox who are uselss even after contacting customer service.

Pace is still too huge a factor (although they appear to have fixed the ease with which you can play through balls) and there just doesn't seem to be much personality about it. Despite the emotional intelligence bullshit EA were peddling, every player seems to play the same way, with the only difference being how quick they are. Still doesn't seem to be any skill to scoring and again, despite EA banging on about improved goalkeepers they seem even worse than ever, although the animations are perhaps nicer.

Controlling receiver is cool but it doesn't really have a huge impact on my enjoyment of the game. There just seems to be too many little flaws that add up to me not enjoying the game.

I've been playing the PES demo quite a bit and I've had much more enjoyable 0-0 games than 90% of the games I've played on FIFA. It might lack the aesthetic finish of FIFA, but the gameplay seems to be a lot more fluid and enjoyable so I'm going to pick up my first copy of PES since 2008 I think!

First one wasn't released on PS3 until last year, Apparently if you start ME2 it completely recaps ME1 due to this in a movie.

I can't be arsed buying anymore PS3 games now due to having a PS4 and I have about 20 PS3 games I haven't even started yet. LA Noire, ME2, ME3, Uncharted 3, Ridge Racer Unbounded, Heavy Rain, Beyond Two Souls, Dead Rising 2, Crysis 2 & 3 all spring to mind and I know theres a lot more, a hell of a lot more.

and I have Last of Us, Lollypop Chainsaw, Anarchy Reigns that I've barely touched, my backlog is huge.

Destiny is basically unplayable for me for the last 2 days- server errors and disconnects. That aside - the biggest shame of it is that with a few tweaks it really could be a fantastic game, but the lack of voice, the lack of matchmaking on weekly heroics, lack of voice in crucible, inability to matchmake for raids, and inability to trade are all holding it back.

If you have got a huge friends list who all play destiny I'm sure its amazing, but if you tend to pootle along on your own - you wont get half of what the game has to offer.

I'm not gonna slag it off, but as soon as Far Cry 4 comes out - I'm off!

Except the end... Oh dear.

I didn't have a problem with the ending. I only saw the "extended" version though. At the end of the day, Mass Effect was more about the journey than the destination.

What a load of shit. I thought the point of a "season pass" was to give you periodic game updates. This just seems to be a one off payment to unlock multiplayer. I don't like the way the games industry is moving with this Season Pass bullshit.

I totally agree with your point windy, but I think you will find its a "mode" in multiplayer, not the whole multiplayer side of the game.

I could be wrong, but thats my understanding.
