I think you’re totally right with the first bit here, line up expectations are totally unrealistic I think. People look at line ups 10 years ago and go “look at how they had (insert arena/stadium act in 2025 playing a small tent in 2015 because they hadn’t even released an album at that point) it’s ridiculous!?!?” Contextually and contemporarily I don’t think they could have done a lot better really considering the price. This line up works out at £50, and they’ve got genuine big hitters in the likes of Slipknot and A7X who could headline Download, Graspop etc, plus two genuine stadium acts in Linkin Park and GNR. Bound to have a smaller 5th headliner and even then this Frank Carter/Sex Pistols is likely a one and done catch-us-whilst-you-can type thing. Plus, absolute big bands down the line up headlining smaller to mid fests in Biffy, Idles, Fontaines, Kneecap, and then they’ve also got the likes of Spiritbox, Lorna Shore, The Ghost Inside etc who whilst they aren’t necessarily my thing are absolutely primed to be a headliner at these sorts of festivals in a couple of years. Will definitely be able to have a great time over the weekend with acts like Circa Waves, EODM, Arrows In Action, Archers, Creeper, Rival Sons, Jerry Cantrell, Awolnation, Dead Poet Society and a couple more I’m forgetting. I think it’s fine personally, but I know that’s just my opinion and it works for me. Considering the price of some festivals these days I think it works out alright and it’s worth it, but I am planning on staying in a tent nearby and should be able to get relatively cheap flights. I think on the Insta post with the clue they said “a few more presents at 2pm” so imagine it’ll be then when the day split poster comes out with the smaller acts

I ended up with a top 13. The K's would have been number 1 if The Cure had not released their album. 1 - The Cure - Songs From A Lost World 2 - The K's - I Wonder If The World Knows 3 - Fontaines DC - Romance 4 - The Last Dinner Party - Prelude to Ecstacy 5 - Kings of Leon - Can We Please Have Fun 6- NewDad - Madra 7- Lime Garden - One More Thing 8 - Red Rum Club - Western Approaches 9 - Amyl & The Sniffers - Cartoon Darkness 10 - Soft Play - Heavy Jelly 11 - Red Rum Club - Western Approaches 12 - Idles - Tangk 13 - Frank Turner - Undefeated

I saw them at Lollapalooza Paris and they seemed to be appreciated there. Reviews at the time said good but struggled to translate to the younger parts of the crowd. Admittedly following Liam Gallagher is a bold choice given he tends to be praised for crowd work. Exactly this - they do tend to go for the same sets all around and whether that translates to a Glastonbury environment is a different matter.

What I would say to you is ... Presumably you've bought tickets based on the lineup... which is cool.... personally it's less and less up my street.... however I'd always consider going back again and again because it's the stuff that isn't on the poster that makes bearded a class festival. It's big enough to always have loads going on, but small enough to be easy. It's reasonably priced inside , you can take your own beer in, it's a beautiful little place to spend a long weekend, and the punters are probably the soundest, loveliest bunch of all the many festivals I've been to. You'll love it, mate.
