I dont get all the gushing on twitter about Ramis tbh.

I don't get the gushing over celebrities full stop when they die,it just seems really wierd to me. (Obviously people like Mandela etc. who changed the world are slightly different but film stars?!)

I might read the news and think "That's sad for his family".

I dont get all the gushing on twitter about Ramis tbh. Yeah Ghostbusters was great, and so was Groundhog Day, but I doubt many people (myself included) could name much else he was involved in. Its sad when anyone dies, but its not affecting anyone outside of his immediate family and friends.

It will affect some people, so let them have their moment.

But who's to say who is deserving of praise or refelction after they die and who isn't?

If you or anyone else wants to get upset about an actor/writer/singer/director/artist/comedian who has never met you, and never gave a shit about you - go for it.

I'm totally entitled to point out that its a bit over the top.

I really don't see what the issue is? Is a forum not- by definition, somewhere to discuss things just like this?

Its not sad at all, I think a bit of balance is needed. People are far too quick to start sobbing all over social media when someone dies. There's no need.

That's a fair point if you're referring to an automatic response without really thinking, I guess due to social media nowadays it's all to easy for someone to like a comment or make one of their own about someone they aren't really familiar with just because it's the done thing or that want to be seen to be taking part. However no matter how obscure you think someone may be there will still be people out there affected and who genuinely want to comment, and there's nothign wrong with that.

I guess from this quote you have an issue with anyone doing it, not just the 'fake' ones. I don't see anything over the top about being sad that someone you respect and who's work you like won't be around any more to produce that work.

I dont know how accurate it was with the actual events on that hill, but they were some tough motherlovers to go through what they did in the movie.

7.5/10 for me.

That's what i'll be interested in. I've read the book but not seen the film yet.

Though, there have been doubts raised over the accuracy of the book anyway...

Short Term 12 and Disconnect are both very good films that everyone should watch. In my very humble opinion.

I also saw the strangest film recently called The Human Race - has anybody else seen it? It's really badly filmed and terribly acted but it's a fabulous idea/concept.

Watched Under the Skin through the course of the week.

It's an incredibly frustrating movie. The Glaswegians among you will take great pleasure in seeing so much of the city in all of it's glory for much of the movie. Visually, this movie works pretty well and there's even occaisions where it's majestic. The sense of isolation and alienation in some parts, and the pure terror in others, it's nicely done indeed, and that's backed up by a mental score.

Where the movie falters is making you really invest the emotion in it though. For much of the movie, we basically have an alien picking up strangers and making them meet some sort of end. We do, however, reach a point where the movie is given a real soul and this is where Scarlett Johansson really excels. It's not long after this that the movie fizzles away though, leaving a bit of a bad taste in the mouth.

The reveal of what happens to her victims is absolutely incredible though, and wouldn't be out of place in a pulse pounding horror. As it stands, it's part of a clunky, if well shot, and watchable movie. I went 6/10 on the rating and I don't feel any differently now I guess.

I thought Grudge Match was alright. Basically the silly wee comedy I was looking for. Plus, De Niro seemed up for it which was nice. He's a brilliant comic actor when he wants to be.

Just not my kind of film at all. I thought the comedy element of it was probably the worst part.

Chael Sonnen was the only highlight.
