Watched Edge of Tomorrow.

Though it was going to be another high budget hollow well made Cruise movie but its actually really good. Funny in parts and keeps you guessing.

I note it has been "renamed" for the home video market to "Live, Die, Repeat" - strange tactic after what must have been a colossal marketing budget for the movie in its original name.

The Babadook is a well constructed horror, surely an Aussie classic in waiting.

I've heard great things about that scottie, how/where did you see that? Is it in cinemas?

It's not in cinemas yet. I have access to reviewing materials - I probably shouldn't but it's from my previous job and they've never turned my password off.

I think it's always been like that, I saw it in the IMAX and their LIVE DIE REPEAT had a great deal of space on the poster with "Edge of Tomorrow" in relatively small letters.

You are aware that they are a fictional creation?

Who says they shouldn't talk?

I do, to have the ability to talk is to suggest they have a mind in which takes aways alot of the character traits of them. Especially when they are talking thrash to people like in Night Of The Comet, although in fairness they never actually say they are zombies.

It'll be like having a Bond film where they make him a straight edge pacifist and refuses to have sex, drink and kill which actually sounds like something I would watch.

Yes but that argument would justify twilight having sparkly veggie vampires that can stay out in the sun.

And we all know, that is very very very very wrong!

Inhumans seems to me like they're trying to find something else to fill the narrative role of the X-Men. It'll be impressive if they pull it off and they've certainly managed to use lesser-known characters and get a success out of it. If they can get success off Guardians of the Galaxy...

Marvel Phase 3 seems intriguing. I'll be interested to see how they do Civil War as a Captain America film, supposedly it is related to the comic but I can't envisage how they can port it with the MCU as is.

My money is them making Iron Man the antagonist of the piece, Cap has to me the wholesome good guy at all times where as Robert Downey Jnr/Iron Man can be flawed and make errors so he can repent at the end and all is good. I reckon the Civil War story will kick off with the introduction of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch in Avengers 2 and Robert Downey Jnr wanting to tag people with super powers incase any of them want to become super-baddies. Of course it wont work as well as you'll be missing the "what side will Spider-Man choose?!!?!" type moments.

Marvel Comics seem to be going crazy at the moment, they're cancelling Fantastic Four as they don't want to support another movie studio's take on them and they are not allowing any new X-Men/mutants to be created and are going to be down played (well as much as you can with the biggest selling comic title) from now on for the same reason.

What seems surprising to me though is that in the comic it's Iron Man and Mr Fantastic dominating one side behind a mantra of intelligence and reason with Captain America standing up for civil liberties and American values. The characterisation of each of those so far in MCU wouldn't synergise with that style, and as you say, missing Spiderman will lose impact.

Yeah, it seems crazy possessive and focused. I guess the MCU is such a cash cow though they want to try and work to shift focus to where they own both halves of a franchise though and not just the comic side.

Yeah, they were a few touches like Stark & Reed brainstorming ideas on how to solve people with power problems to make it a much bigger thing than simply an Identification Card type affair which I can't see the more reckless & whimsical Rober Downey Jnr portaying unless Fury is the one who heads it with Downey as his major support but that would ring too close to what has already happened in Cap 2 though. I still see the main problem with trying to pull it off is the MCU isn't big enough to have a mass "war" so something like the Avengers vs Secret Avengers can't happen and if they do rush people like Black Panther & Ms Marvel into the MCU I hope they actually have a personailty & backstory unlike Hawkeye in Avengers.

I think it's pretty obvious that Iron Man will provide the conflict.

Well yes, but it's how the rest of it will actually work. As Jump has said since, MCU isn't big enough to have a mass war, and the Iron Man in the comic is very different from Robert Downey Jr's. The basic premise is obvious, it's the rest that's a bit harder to envisage.

I really hope they don't rush them in. Given they're getting their own films surely their appearances before then will be minor cameos rather than empty supporting characters.
