The Babadook is the best acted horror in years. Can't recall the last time where the best thing about a horror was a strong lead. Really liked it, marmite film as most of the masses won't get it. Avoids the usual horror cliches and is a very interesting character film.

Nightcrawler is superb, best I've seen in a good while.

Went to the pictures to watch Paddington today, it's flipping excellent. Go to see this film. If somebody had told me a year ago that they were making a film of the Paddington books, with a CGI Paddington, I would have spat in their eye and punched them in the throat, but this is a total triumph on every front.

Oh...my...God...

Has anyone seen a 2012 film called 'Compliance'?

It's a true story of a crime that happened in America.Deals with a prank caller phoning a fast food place claiming to be the police and alleging a member of staff has stolen. I don't want to describe it to much as you should just watch it cold like I did.I've since researched it and everything that happened was 100% true.

It's made as an example of a scientific finding which states that people will behave immorally if instructed to do so by authority.

I was gobsmacked.

Had to watch it as part of my AS psychology course. Truly crazy isn't it.

I couldn't get over the sheer stupidity. If it was one person, maybe, but for so many people to get involved and not twig? Sorry, but I'm not buying that as anything other than mass stupidity. As evidenced by one bloke turning up and being like "eh?" and unravelling the whole thing.

I hated the movie as a result. Terrifically acted though. Just couldn't get over that massive stumbling block. As an actual piece of filmmaking, it can't really be faulted much.

Oh yeah don't get me wrong I was sat there thinking "How could you do this" for the first 40 mins but after that I think I just embraced it as dumb Americans. The other thing that shocked me was that the incident was only 10 years ago!In today's day and age?How could people be so clueless?

But still a shocking story & great film.

I've seen that. It was incredibly frustrating to watch. If this was not a true story it would have been laughably unbelievable.

I left wondering if this could happen in this country. I dont think it can as people dont seem to have much respect for authority these days. But then I suspect the average american would say the same thing.

A good film, but a horrible film.

It's weird as you watch it thinking it can't be real and just seems so incredulous but it is all true. That's the dichotomy, you think it's so stupid and a Shit film yet I ended up walking away thinking it was a good film in some weird way as it left such an impression on me.So,in a way,how do you judge if it's good or not lol?

Yeah, Russy's summation is good. It was an uncomfortable film to watch, made all the more uncomfortable when the google search directly after watching shows that in one case, this is pretty much exactly how it played out.

It was, if nothing else, thought provoking.

who watched the movie Scarface, it makes sense to look at?

It's the story of the rise and fall of an empire and the effect greed can have on people.

Fantastic movie I thought but it's lost some of its appeal to me after seeing the way all the American rappers idolize it and think of it as a way to live life. The fact that they seem to disregard the consequences of Tony Montana's actions seems quite ironic.
