Jefferson Starship mutated out of Jefferson Airplane who I first saw in 69 at Shepton Mallet (Glasto -1). They're still touring though without the great Grace Slick who retired long ago. Paul Kantner, their original lead guitarist, still plays with them (probably owns the name). He's a chain smoker and it's amazing to watch him play lead breaks with a fag held by the little finger in his right hand while also holding a plectrum.
