Another of Gumpy's Gonners. Roy Orbison's In Dreams from the excellent Black and White Night concert and DVD.

If you're jilted you have to Walk.

There are many versions of this song: the Four Tops hit, a lovely alternative arrangement by the Left Banke and this, my favourite.

It's the Left Banke arrangement given some extra passion by Southside Johnny and with a great sax solo.

Southside and The Asbury Jukes were, effectively the Bruce Springsteen second team. SS and Bruce grew up running rival bands in New Jersey and many members have moved between the bands. SS and Bruce have also done some great shows together.

All these headliner performances are giving me festival withdrawal symptoms.

Here's another. Dire Straits plus Clapton at Knebworth.

A true classic from Zero 7 with the distinctive vocal lead of Sia on the mike. Wish I'd been there, wonder what stage that was?

And just because it brought Terry Callier to my attention, along with many others, a wonderful track

Zero Mostel - Fiddler on the Roof (take your pick)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahAOU1HZXlc

Zero also starred in the Mel Brook's film The Producers, a great story about how he sells shares in a show a dozen times over to his collection of little old lady investors. The one thing he has to do is produce a guaranteed flop and then he won't have to pay out. So he thought he had a guaranteed 'turkey' with Springtime For Hitler. But the best laid plans .......

Nice one Oneeye. Carole King wrote so many excellent songs and Mrs GH loves James Taylor.

Plus Joe at Woodstock as a bonus. His scream still takes some beating.

Something a little different. Astor Pazzolla's Street tango, can't find live, so something else live from the archive.

And one of his better known tracks or is it just one of my favourites :)

Long time since I listened to Mamas & Papas. Sorry to take you from your fascination of walkways. From Alley to Cat. DJ producer Amon Tobin on the great label Ninja Tunes. Live performance of a track from his iMAP album, with (i read) live projection mapping. Wish I'd gone to see this.

"Tobin transformed sounds and noises from real life--like a creaky chair or puffs of air--to create sounds that are rooted in the mundane but then rendered unrecognizable after being "treated" by the producer"

If you're thirsty you may want some WATER

Another of Grumpy's Gonners. The Standells. A great 60s garage/punk band originally from Los Angeles. Although this song refers to Boston they had no connection with the city, although this 1966 hit was adopted as the theme song of Boston Red Sox.
