Thanks Oneeye. A bit of Aretha never fails.

This morning, driving down to check over my caravan, the head of the Girl Guides was on Desert Island Discs and she chose Harry Secombe's version of I Believe. But don't panic. This is the man who's probably penned more sing-alongs than any other writer.

The Savage Resurrection

One of the first psychedelic bands I got into back in 67.

Not much live stuff from their original days.

P.S. Had a superb night tonight seeing Brit Floyd. OK a tribute band, but meticulous in their sound and lighting and highly recommended to any Floyd fans. True, they're not Floyd but it does help remind you of what great originators Syd, Dave, Roger and the gang were.

Love Lee

Sadly another of Grumpy's Gonners. Arthur Lee died from leukemia in 2006.

But this set from Glastonbury 2003 was tremendous.

Love was one of my favourite West Coast groups along with The Doors. Lots of gentle melodic stuff but they could belt it out too.

A little humour to lighten things up.

This is a very young Bob Newhart doing his sketch about an imaginary phone call from Sir Walter Raleigh reporting back on his latest 'finds' whilst exploring the colonial potential of the US.

Not the best quality video but this has to be one of my favourite Glasto performances ever. The magnificent Leonard Cohen with Dance Me To The End of Love.

Better quality videos of Cohen performing in other places can be found and are worth looking at if you are not familiar with Mr C. I saw him later do a full show in Cardiff and that has to be one of my standout concerts of all time.

We've had the link word love before - so let's go for END

Bell leads me to Ding

Chuck Berry isn't a gonner. At 88 he still performs about once a month not far from his home in St Louis.

This has to be the most embarrassing song he's ever done - but also one of the most successful.

Chuck Berry inspired so many, including The Stones, and really pioneered electric guitar.

This is Chuck when he was in his sixties with The Boss (who hasn't Springsteen played with?)

Sorry - another of Grumpy's Gonners but another BOOM from one of the many he inspired.
